The bay itself is breathtakingly beautiful. Yet, today (06/08/2024) something white, oily fat was on the water surface. We entered the water for snorkeling and seeing the surface from below we decided to exit ASAP. Others complained about the same, it was impossible to wash the oil off our skin, hair and equipment. There was no sign, local businesses were even charging for umbrellas without notifying the visitors about the water quality. I called the police, from where I got to know that the same issue was reported today morning, yet they just left people and children going there. The policeman on the phone said they (as police dept) cannot do anything, if I want I can report the issue to the health department on the following day. But ideal for snorkeling you could see right to the bottom of the sea bed. There is a walk path from a side if the bay leads right to the ferry terminal ... Long walk across the cliff edges take extra care...how ever of you walk bit further up there is a small cave opening to the land with a bathing spot. really quite and private. Access there can be bit challenging as you have few climbs and descents on the rock formations. There are some watersports on the bay offering various activities. There is a tour operators provide Ferry to comino blue lagoon from there as well. Public toilets can be found at the end of the beach area, there is a cafe serving good choice if food.
