Such an interesting place to visit. This Huge sink hole in Qrendi appeared around the 1340s. Now whilst you cant really go down too far, you actually respect that and enjoy viewing nature at its best. The variety of different birds you can hear is gorgeous, something that is very hard to find on our hunter infested Island. Go down l and just listen. :)

Though access is quite limited and everything can be seen in less than 15 minutes, the Maqluba is a spectacular geological phenomenon with local legends surrounding its creation. Lots of lizards and geckos can be spotted in this area if you look closely.

A lovely place to visit, especially during the week, when it's very quite. Do at least read about its legend!!!! While there look for the dragon face tree. You might also be lucky and find a van selling yummy warm Bigilla & dry biscuits

Beautiful place especially if you are not mobility challenged. Would have loved to be able to manage the walk down and through the sinkhole. Wonderful legend on how it was created and the link with the island of Filfla, charming fortified chapel dedicated to St.Matthew perched right on the rim of the sinkhole. Worth the short detour to or from Wied iz-Zurrieq and the...

Il-Maqluba located at Qrendi, Malta means upside down. The name comes from the myths about the creation of tal-Maqluba... hole dug by the Phoenicians, a legendary crater formed by the wrath of God/Devil... On the 23rd November 1343, Malta experienced one of its most severe winter storms ever, possibly accompanied by an earthquake. It was at this time that...
