Laferla Cross or as better known Is-Salib ta' l-Gholja sits on top of the relatively flat hill next to the Lunzjata Chapel.
The area forms part of the Village of Difgiewi some 2.5km downn the hill.

In vuew if the recarious statecof the nearby chapel the area is sealed off for the public. Nevertheless this place is wirth a visit as it is one of the remaining places promoting oeace and quite.
Visitors are encouraged to walk down the hill made of rough cobble stones. On the way one sees nice stone statues and a niche dedicated to The Nazzareno. These statues are light on Moundy Thursday and Good Friday and the cross is floodlight for devotes to enjoy the annual pilgrimage. The nearby fields will also be dotted with teaditional fiaccoli that set the environment for the holy event.
The cross that is madevof nryal was relaced in the 1970s and is showing signsof corrossion from tje saline airc5gat blows from the nearby open seas. Thecorevious cross was covered in bronze sheeting before it succumbed and replaced. Its predecessor was perhsps the most spectacular as it was covered in stauned glass and it shown at Sunrise and sunset. This was around the 1930's.
