We attended an "eat in the dark" dinner, more accurately, "eat blindfold".
There are no food photos for obvious reasons and while we learned what we had eaten after each course, I do not want to spoil the surprise. I will reveal that there were five courses (plus desert), each from a different country, and each accompanied by a different wine from the winery.
The food was delicious but one of the courses was the best version of that dish I had ever eaten including in it's country of origin!
When we arrived, the working areas of the winery and the modern (if not futuristic) architecture and equipment was a revelation. I have visited many wineries but this was a first.
We enjoyed all of the wines but some we fell in love with and will return to buy.
"In the dark events" can be intimidating as you set in total darkness but this format allowed you to remove the blindfold and interact between courses.
The staff were attentive and delightful and the event was fun and thoughtfully put together....
Read moreWe had the most stunning experience at the wine farm last weekend, all thanks to our incredible host, Diana. We had booked a wine tour followed by a dinner to celebrate our first wedding anniversary with a group of 16 people. We had specifically asked for a nice setup with candles to make the occasion special.
Our expectations were completely exceeded when we were led to a magical garden under the olive trees. A beautifully set table awaited us, complete with music, candles, and lights, creating a truly unforgettable atmosphere. It was a beautiful place to enjoy the delicious food and soak in the ambiance.
Diana was fantastic, guiding us through a tasting of their wonderful wines while we enjoyed the meal. Her explanations were insightful and made the experience even more special. We had the most beautiful wine and a truly perfect...
Read moreWe first learned about this wine estate when recommended and drinking their wine in a nice restaurant in St Julian’s. We decided to try a visit and was already on the phone friendly received and invited. At the vineyard which is small, well kept and quite cozy we were met and guided by wonderful Marie who showed us practically everything with interesting and relevant explanations of the various steps in wine making. At the end of the tour we sampled the different wines which all are very tasty, quite different and all have their own character. We can warmly recommend a visit to Ta Betts and also warmly recommend to try their wines in the restaurants - if you can find them (not sold everywhere) Kind regards/...
