Today my holiday in paradise was tainted. My memories of Balaclava beach are of sadness ... A poor dog lay dying on the grass underneath the trees. Locals parking cars & almost reversing over this poor animal made me horrified. Mauritius has a terrible problem with strays & unfortunately for this poor pooch he has no chance ... Einer der besten Schnorchelstrände der Insel, völlig unterbewertet

Schnorcheln: 10/10 (sehr einfacher Einstieg) Strand: 5/10 (sand, relativ schmal) Essen: 5/10 (2 stände) Menschen: 6/10 (wenige, Hauptsächlich locals und Schnorchler)

Man muss auf einer Stichstraße dahin fahren und am Ende gibt es einen Waldparkplatz mit einem oder zwei Essensstände. Im Wasser waren bei uns direkt zwei Ausflugsboote ca. 30 m vom Strand entfernt, die Schnorchler ins Wasser gelassen haben.

Das schnorcheln lohnt sich extrem! Ich hatte in 30 min schnorcheln eine Muräne, einen lionfish, hunderte weiß schwarz gestreifte Fische und viele andere.

Wenn man kein Boot mieten will und wie wir Kinder dabei hat ist das vermutlich einer der am einfachsten und schnellsten zugänglichen Schnorchelspots.

Einstieg zum Schnorcheln:

Wenn man aufs Meer blickt: auf der rechten Seite des Parkplatzes gibt es einen breiten Sandweg zum Strand hinunter (bei uns lagen da auch 3 Boote an). Dort ins Wasser gehen, am Anfang am besten ca. 50m schräg rechts reinschwimmen und dann eine große Runde erst Richtung Riff (also weg vom Strand) nach links wieder zurückschwimmen. Direkt vor dem Parkplatz neben dem Sandweg ist 10 vom Strand aus eine Steinbarriere durch die man nicht schwimmen kann, daher beim...
