Airswitch Kitesurfing — Attraction in Le Morne

I had an incredible experience with Air Switch Kite Surfing School in Mauritius and can’t recommend them enough. My first lesson with Katya was absolutely fantastic! She explained things in a way that finally made everything click for me. By the end of that first session, I was riding upwind in both directions and returning to the same spot, something I had never managed in previous lessons elsewhere.

I followed this with two semi-private sessions with Oliver, where we focused on learning transitions. Each session was clear, focused, and fun, and I saw noticeable improvement every day. My last two sessions were just supervision sessions!

I spent a week kitesurfing in the stunning Le Morne kite lagoon, and it was genuinely a make-or-break week for me in terms of deciding whether to continue kitesurfing or give it up. Thanks to the amazing coaching and support from Air Switch, I’m happy to say I’ll definitely be continuing! I now feel confident riding independently and safely.

The equipment was top-notch, in great condition, and felt like new (we even unwrapped a brand-new kite while I was there!). The organisation and communication were flawless from start to finish, and the spot itself is truly a dream location for learning.

I had the best kitesurfing experience with Airswitch. Absolute professionals, friendly and welcoming guys, very communicative, helpful and supportive. They offer some top-notch gear (Core kites - it's like you're kiting on a Porsche), have a very convenient spot for learning kiting - in a beautiful lagoon with the most breathtaking scenery and perfect conditions for beginners (not too crowded, shallow water, almost no waves, pretty constant wind). My instructor Oliver was very encouraging and was constantly giving me useful feedback and great tips. With his support and advice I was progressing every day: not only I finally started riding upwind confidently and even making some slide transitions, but I also learned how to control my speed much better, which also boosted my confidence a lot, and I actually started feeling much more relaxed on a board even with a stronger wind. Another thing that I greatly appreciated with Airswitch is the amount of time you get to spend practicing in a water - each of my sessions was over 2 hours, I didn't have to share the kite with anyone or wait. Oliver was monitoring my progress and helping me improve, and on my last day I even had the honor of having been launched on the beach, so I could just ride further away from the beginners area like an independent kiter (instead of walking there while someone was bringing me the equipment). I totally recommend Airswitch Kitesurfing - you won't regret if you choose them - and I look forward for the next year to come back and maybe learn some jumps...
