A hidden gem in Mauritius! While the general food scene in Mauritius can sometimes leave one desiring more—likely due to limited local produce apart from sugar and pineapple—the hotels often present a mix of high prices and lackluster flavors.
A word of advice: if gastronomy is paramount to you, reconsider staying at the Dinarobin. However, if you do choose it for its affordability compared to other hotels, make sure to take a short 20-minute stroll to the JW's Floating Market. It provided us with the most memorable meal on the island.
The service at Floating Market was remarkably attentive. A notable moment was when I, on my way to wash my hands, admired a sushi roll destined for another table. To my surprise, upon returning, the waiter promptly presented me with a menu from the adjacent restaurant, offering us the flexibility to order from both! The result? Then somebody finally saw us and came to us asking what we wanted, but it was too late by then.
Overall, our evening was quite disappointing and we can't...

Service was comedy gold too. Our order was a mystery tour, and the disgruntled noises from nearby tables suggested we weren't the only ones playing culinary roulette. You could practically see the thought bubbles above their heads. To top it off, the waiting staff navigated the floor like Bambi after a few too many sherries. Clumsy doesn't even begin...
