First thing to point out you need substantial footwear, flip flops are not really appropriate.

We left the car at the dead end at the roundabout and using Google maps navigated through the sugarcane fields like it was a maze. It is about a 15-minute walk from the roundabout to the waterfall.

At the edge of the sugarcane plantation the fauna and track changes. Heading towards the waterfall gets more difficult being steep and rocky.

Once at the waterfall the track down is slippery and damp to the bottom. Once there you can get across to the other side by taking your shoes and socks off and wading through the water, holding a makeshift rope. From there you can see the waterfall in its full splendour.

Before heading to Minissy Waterfall, you need to be well-prepared. Good shoes and clothing are essential, along with mosquito repellent, a swimsuit, and plenty of water. The waterfall is situated deep inside, requiring a bit of walking. We had difficulty reaching our destination due to heavy rainfall the day before, which made the path very muddy.

I love the waterfall; it's so beautiful, with clear, crystal water when the sun is shining. We had our lunch and caught up with friends. You will need to be very careful and carryout out this hike with a group of people.
