The Malecón is the heart of san Felipe, when it comes to tourism. Along the waterfront of the Bay of San Felipe, you'll find beach, fishermen, mariachi and banda music, street vendors, shops, restaurants and bars.
A local government effort over the last couple of years has significantly beautified and cleaned up the area. Sidewalks were repaved, new trash barrels provided, parking was redesigned, and a colorful "San Felipe" sign/sculpture was installed. They were much-needed improvements, and the result was evident during the recent Semana Santa, which brought an estimated 80,000 people to this little seaside town.

Read moreSan Felipe is a small quiet beach town on the Sea of Cortez. I stayed here 3 days and two nights, 3/14-3/16/2020 with my Fiance. San Felipe does have some charm to it, but it also feels dirty and run down as you get away from the main strip. Many of the roads are not maintained, which doesn't give you the feeling of a resort/tourist town. Considering a lot the prices of food, drinks and hotels is expensive, I think San Felipe is over priced as a whole for what it is. If the roads were nicer and the areas of the town were cleaner and better maintained, I think San Felipe has the potential to be a very nice weekend getaway...
Read moreLove to hang around here and chill. Morning to evening things change. I'd say about 5pm especially towards the weekend there's more street vendors and live street singing. It's lovely to see children run around and play like the good ole days instead of glued to the tv or phone. A few stray dogs running around but they mind their own business or if you want to throw them some food cause they hungry. Late Jan early February we are here so it must still be in off season. Bit windy later in afternoon. Amazing sunrise friendly people. Towards the evening you get a few cars just cruising by. Chilled laid back...
