Grandiose is the word that came to mind when I first crested the hill and walked onto this plaza and saw the monument in front of me. Without knowing anything about the man this place immortalizes, I could tell he was a very important figure in the local history here and I was encouraged to find out more about him.
During my visit, I was the only one here (which added to the mystery of the place), and it was quite impressive to look upon the relief map of the city and then read about the person towering way above me.
