A no brainer if you are visiting Guadalajara. Tuesday evening ("Martes de Glamour", 20.30 h, check) is the time to go unless you want a family session, in which case you'd better go on Sunday. Take a taxi or Uber, never your own car. Alternatively, book tickets at the Red Pub (just Google it) and take the round trip tour on a bus with a complementary supply of beer, but mind that doing it this way exposes you to a very special treatment when entering the Arena... As a rule, there are two prices: tier ("balcón" or ring 2; ring 3 is apparently closed nowadays), or "sillas" (ring 1, at the ground level). The difference amounts to a bare 50 Mexican pesos but drops you either into the "rich"side or intoto the "poor" side ("1000% Poor"). Seats at 12.45 at ring 2, right in front of the ramp through wrestlers get into the place, are pretty quiet & peaceful: sit there for a mild experience. Sits at 12.30 - 12.40 ring 2 are the place to go if you really want to grasp "the 1000% poor" experience. You'd better gulp two sizeable beers ASAP, and let you go with the pals around. The complementary experience is at ring 1 ("sillas"). At either side, your knowledge of local slang will raise for several notches. The event is, to make a long story short, hilarious. Go and enjoy!

We had a blast during our visit on Tuesday night at 9 PM. No need to buy the tickets online and pay Ticketmaster fees, just head right up to the box office and buy your tickets. We paid 250 pesos each for the "balcony" which is more like the general admission section behind a fence without assigned seats. Coming 15 minutes early meant we could sit anywhere and I think it technically was the 9th row. The crowd in the balcony area is a mix of rowdy and families. There was also a live band leading chants against the rich people in the assigned seats and the "bad" fighters. I know almost zero Spanish but even I'm aware that it's full of insults and swearing haha. When we left we walked out to Calzada Independencia because the side streets are full of parked cars. It was much easier to get an Uber home from there.

Arena Coliseo Guadalajara is an absolute blast! I can see why you'd say it was "paisa wasool" - pure entertainment value for every penny spent. This iconic venue offers an electrifying atmosphere, showcasing the thrilling world of Lucha Libre wrestling.

What to Expect:

High-Energy Matches: Acrobatic feats, theatrics, and intense action unfold in the ring, keeping you on the edge of your seat. Interactive Crowd: The audience is an integral part of the show, with chants, cheers, and playful jabs at each other adding to the excitement. Vibrant Atmosphere: Colorful costumes, lively music, and enthusiastic fans create an infectious energy. Unique Experience: Lucha Libre is a distinct blend of sports and entertainment, making it a must-see for anyone visiting Guadalajara.

Tips for Your Visit:

Tuesday Nights are Special: Don't miss "Martes de Glamour" (Glam Tuesday) for an extra dose of excitement and entertainment. Arrive Early: Get there with time to spare, especially if you're buying tickets at the venue. Bring Cash: The arena doesn't accept card payments, so be prepared. Uber Recommended: Parking can be a hassle, so consider using ride-hailing services. Sit Strategically: If you're not comfortable with the wrestlers entering the audience, consider sitting a few rows...

Very enjoyable, amusing, and the athletic theatrics are quite impressive. Sundays are "Familiar", starting at 6:00 pm, and the action (and audience participation) is suitable for kids. Tuesdays are "Noche de Glamour" starting later, and much raunchier, more rabid and obnoxious participation of the audience. Show lasts about 2.5 hours. The luchadores action makes it into the first and second row; get 3rd row (200 MX on Sundays) or 4th (180 MX) or farther if you are timid. No need for reservations; there are plenty of seats and you can buy at the door. We used the Moovit app to get there and back home via bus (Moovit is a must-have for bus system in GDL!!). Beers, snacks available in the coliseum by roving vendors, slightly less expensive if you buy at the concession stand. This was way more fun than I anticipated, and I totally...
