DO NOT GET A BOAT IN THIS AREA (PIER) I REPEAT DO NOT GET A BOAT IN THIS AREA. This specific area is extremely sketch, ever since you get off the metro, some guy on a bike scouts you and acts like he is a local, however they take you to the "tourist" area which leads to this pier however once you get there, there are no other tourist around nor other boat launchers. We got sucked in not knowing better and we showed up with 12 people. They tried to tell us max people was 10, and they attempted to get us to ride in the most hideous trajinera. Before we got on the boat we noticed water at an edge of the inside of the boat, we told the guy this and he said that was normal, that the water has always been there, not knowing better we got on and as soon as we started stepping in WATER STARTED SEEPING IN FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE FLOOR! We wanted to get off and the guy kept telling us to stay until my aunt yelled at him and he switched boats, however when we switched to the other boat, the guy took down the name of the boat and that was super sketch, since part of the attraction is to have the name up on the boat you ride (look how ugly our boat was and damaged). Anyways, we decided to go for the 2 hour boat ride but the guy took his sweet time taking us practically NOWHERE, he took an 1 and a half to take us to some middle place then made us stop at a "garden" he told us we had to get off, we got off for 15 minutes and then we got back on the boat and within 15 minutes we were back to the pier....how does it take someone 15 minutes to get back from a 1 hour a half ride?!?! Well long story short, the guy scammed us, I later learned that there are scammers out here and they use retired trajineras, we didn't notice the red flags until we rode back home and took time to reflect on what happened. Look, all I am saying is do not trust NOBODY on a bike to lead you, tell them to leave you alone and trust your google maps instead, GO TO A DIFFERENT PIER, AVOID THIS ONE. I really hope this helps some of you out there, stay safe! I notice alot of positive reviews however that's because there are alot of piers around and I am assuming people don't know what pier they got on, but I do remember the pier and that is why I took the time to leave this review on the proper pier that this happened at to help people not...
Read morewe really enjoyed our boat ride. the scenery was lush, serene, and peaceful. our trajinero was skillful and friendly. we did the two-hour ride and wished we had done the four-ride, just to see more of the lovely trees and wildlife. in addition to the nurture we saw, we also got a glimpse of how people live along the canals, from farmers to commercial boats that sell their goods and services to people on trajineras. we also liked seeing that both mexicans and tourists alike were out enjoying some time on the canals. the only thing we didn't like was being told we couldn't join up with others to bring down the price, which was $600 per boat (not per person) per hour when we were there. we were told that this company doesn't allow that because people who don't know each other can get into fights and that they've had problems...
Read moreWARNING‼️‼️ we came here in an uber and on our ride there, there was various motorcycles who kept stopping us and knocking on our window saying the port was closed due to X holiday and they told us to follow them to their port. Luckily our uber driver told us they always say that in order to get people to go to their port. We ended up following one of the locals to the port and the entire place was so sketchy as someone kept following us and giving us directions to the dock area. Once we got there there was NO TOURISTS there only locals who kept looking at us. We felt unsafe and decided to leave, when we told the person that he lowered the price from $1600 pesos to $400 for the boat ride. MORAL OF THE STORY ‼️‼️BE CAREFUL WHICH PORT YOU...
