If you’re a chocolate lover or just curious about the fascinating journey from cacao pod to chocolate bar, Planeta Cacao is an absolute must-visit! This immersive tour dives into the rich history of chocolate, teaching you how it originated and evolved into the treat we all adore today.
One of the highlights of the tour was the hands-on experience of making our own chocolate straight from the pod. There’s something incredibly satisfying about crafting your own treat from scratch, and the process was both educational and fun. Of course, the grand finale was tasting their delicious house-made chocolate – every bite was pure bliss!
A huge shoutout to Adrian, our fantastic tour guide, who brought the experience to life with his knowledge, humor, and passion for cacao. His storytelling and guidance made the tour truly memorable.

Read moreAn amazing small family owned cocoa farm where the love for chocolate sprouts in every single aspect! 🥰
My friend and I participated in the cocoa workshop and were very pleasantly surprised! We got to learn about the history of cocoa in the world, and in Mexico, we got to see and actually DYI the production bean-to-bar and also taste all the semi-products of it (even the fresh cocoa beans with pulp!). We made our own little chocolate paste bar that we got to decorate as we pleased, all of it we did while sipping on practically unlimited agua de cocoa pinoche (tasty AF - pardon my language 🤭).
Definitely recommended! Free entry to the facility, but definitely worth to pay for the workshop! Cute little giftshop with readonable prices, too!
Also, very easily accessible by bus (10-15 min from the bus stop walking straight on just...
Read moreThis Puerto Vallarta excursion was very worth it! When we arrived, Alma, was toasting cacao. She took us on a tour that included interesting chocolate education and history. We walked with her to several cacao trees and saw what it looks like as it grows. We all shelled our own and ground it into fresh powder. We made our own chocolate desserts from scratch. They sell nice gifts like chocolate sauces, cocoa butter, chocolate candles and of course organic chocolate made right there. We didn’t know where to eat lunch and this tour / activity is away from the main city so Alma gave us some of her personal recommendations for her favorite restaurants when we asked her. She also arranged a taxi and talked to the driver for us. We ended up eating a delicious lunch at a lovely restaurant right on the beach. Thank you, Alma -you...
