Maybe 1 time out of 15 trips I get flagged but customs entering the US, but no big deal. Just adds 5 minutes to my trip home. Middle of the day has the longest lines. Check what you can:t bring because you might have to walk back and throw away cascarrones because we can't transport more than 12 eggs into the US. Same with meds. Never the same agents.... All the refugees have the right lane of the sidewalk lined with tents living on the bridge. Don't bring a wide buggy & hit their homes please. They're respectful and quiet. Make sure you have $.30 to come back in the turnstyle. $4 parking.... $1 entrance into Mexico. Otw into Mexico are women and children loudly begging under the bridge with poles and buckets. Give if you can. Whatever you want.... 5 out of 5 stars.

I wanted to give everyone a description of the border crossing on foot. Parking costs $2. Going from US to Mexico. You pass a booth and they charge you $1 to walk on the bridge. Crossing the bridge takes about 5 minutes. On the Mexican side, they check you through. You pass by an xray machine where you put your bag. And you go into Mexico. No wait. On the way back, you pass by and cross onto the bridge. It costs either a quarter or 5 pesos to use the bridge. Then a 5 minute walk... At the US side, you end up in a line. The left side is for people with passports. It takes about 25 minutes to go through the line. They scan your passport like normal and you are in the US. We went on a Monday. It is very active there.

This border town is always popular with winter Texans (and now Spring Breakers)for many reasons-especially for dentistas, cheap booze and pharmacies. Be careful with your money and never leave valuables (you don’t need Pesos) unattended. It is rumored that The town has paid off the cartel for years and is very safe for this reason (much safer than Matamoros- which is now a Ghost town for tourism. Do not take photos of the military or border police and if you drive across, be sure to give your vehicle watchman a tip or your vehicle May not be there when you return.

Had a blast buying all kinds of goodies. lots of English-language spoken no problems whats so ever. Plenty of welcoming people, good food, medical ,dentistry ,clothes, pharmacies , (you got to have perscriptions for everything ) ,pedicures, ect but at super low prices . The only thing i don't get is Why is the American side of the bridge brown and Mexico's is white .Nice border patrol agents who got us back across swiftly. Thanks to Progresso Mexico for the hospitality I shall return for more of tacos . Oh you can even get blue snoballs.
