O Wow! This has never populated on my radar! How can I tell you how awesome Nuevo Progreso is? We've been going for almost 20 years! Dr Arturo Lozano has been our dentist for all of this time. We were blown away with his technology, expertise, and he's never disappointed. I would say, we spend 1/5th of what it would cost in the States. Which is why Nuevo Progreso is so popular. Safe? OMG! My family and I crossed quickly with no wait time on a Friday. The fee to walk into Mexico is $1.00 and 30 cents to return. We ate at Arturo's restaurant, which is air conditioned, serves delicious food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. My favorite drink is their crisp Culligan water, no joke. Going in was not bad but coming back into the State was terrible. Walking across the bridge there was so many homless people it was terrible. They should not let them be on the bridge like that because it makes their country look bad. Kids under bridge begging was ugly as well.
