We’ve been here twice now. First time was May 2017. It was perfect. Secluded. Private. Reef right in the bay (close small coral nearby and larger reef is a long swim or a kayak away) with good to great snorkeling. Highlight was definitely swimming with sea turtles every morning. It was a dream come true except for the large amounts of seaweed/turtle grass. This time we went mid June in 2024. The weather was terrible for us so that colored the trip a bit. The reef looked rough compared to my memories, and I saw no signs of sea turtles besides a few nests. The little local restaurant down the road is closed as well as the one across the street so your only nearby food option is at the Jashito hotel which is very upscale. Read moreWe used to come here through Chamico’s Restaurant & Beach Club but now the beach club is closed forever. The community is privatised with a guard at the gate so it's impossible to get on the beach this way. You can try going through Pandano Restaurant but they will only let you with a minimum spend of 900 pesos per person. Snorkeling is good here with lots of coral, fish and conches. If you haven't be here since you are visiting Tulum or Playa del Carmen, not only are you losting a beautiful awesome spot for having a pretty seafood dish, but also you are losting the opportunity of snorkeling in a very good reef.
Secondly, the amazing view of the tipical coconut at the beach, and the walk through the sand like in the postal pictures.
In my very personal opinion, I recommend taking this trip as soon as possible...
