These cenotes were stunningly beautiful and we loved the experience of visiting four cenotes, two in caves and two open with quite the daring jumps and zipline available for those that like them. It was uncrowded, not rushed, and we enjoyed two of the cenotes with only our group of six! Lunch was good especially coffee and pastries. Being able to book online for transportation from our hotel was a great feature, happy medium between big tour companies and hiring a taxi. Sometimes we did have to look around a bit for our guide and instructions weren't clear at times, like what to do with our stuff, and what to do at the end of how to get back to our driver. Also there were scuba divers when we arrived at one cenote and the guide didn't really help us figure out when they were done and when we could jump. So, it is flexible and not rushed, but also a little hands-off, which I will still take over the super-structured excursions. I visited another cenote excursion later in the week and really preferred Cenotes Zapote. For those planning to visit, I recommend snorkel masks for the caves, looking at the stalagmites underwater was amazing, and towels/clothes to keep warm! The water is a little cool and we were not there on the hottest day, so some of us were really shivering by cenote #3. If you have a fleece you can throw on or wetsuit, those would be great, and big towels. Also Whatsapp was a great way to communicate about details such as timing for...
Read moreWhat an awesome day! We were able to book same day because they have a website which many in the area don’t so I was nervous driving out there but it was easy! We did the Chaka basic package which included a visit to 4 Cenote’s. Two above ground and two caves. You park and do a short walk on an even gravel path to the first one and then they drive you on a cart to the second. You then return to your car and a guide escorts you in a separate vehicle to the cavernous ones. I recommend bringing a second towel. We brought one and it was VERY damp by the time we had to sit on them in our car to use again at the 3rd and 4th.
Overall the Cenote’s were amazing. First one is over 200ft deep. Second has a zip line which was super fun and the third was an incredible cave. The 4th was lovely but we were cold and tired after jumping in the first 3 so we didn’t go in the water. Overall amazing experience and highly recommend the whole organization.
Don’t forget to ALWAYS tip your guides! I recommend having a small denomination with your stuff for the first cenote so you can tip the driver. I forgot but made sure to grab cash from my purse once we got in the car to go to the next one and our guide was wonderful and gave us lots of information.
We went on the Monday after Thanksgiving and were the ONLY ones in our Cenote’s which made it such a magical...
Read moreOverall great experience, would definitely recommend this activity to anyone interested.
Here are a few things that might be helpful if you're going.
We did the 3 senote package with lunch buffet. Park is very clean and staff is helpful. I would reccomend wearing water shoes / sandals with straps for the pools. Slip on tennis shoes would have been nice when walking and biking.
They have lockers available for free but you don't need them. I carried my backpack with me the whole time and there are benches to store your items at the pools.
The first pool is in walking distance but the second pool you need to bike (10 minutes on a gravel path) or ride in the golf cart. You can also rent atv's for 80$ (not worth it in my opinion, it's about a total of 20 minutes of riding on a gravel road)
We then did a zip line that we were not aware was included. Pretty quick, just 4 zip lines in the jungle. Took around 30 minutes.
The last senote is 5 minutes down the road, you will get back in with your driver for this.
Lastly is lunch and the picture sell. Lunch is buffet style tacos. Pictures are around 80$ if you want then.
Total time from Dreams Rivera Cancun...
