Playa Las Coloradas — Attraction in Yucatán

The beach is polluted with plastics and sea weed. The water is a nice color, though. The village is hurting, even though there is a large industrial complex (salt mining) right there. The tourism business is focused on giving tours of the pink salt pools, which seems to be going strong with a relatively new reception building and viewing tower. I think they should spend more money to clean up the beach and town. I didn't do the pink salt pool tour because I don't think it is worth the money to see an industrial complex. Also, the pink color isn't as vibrant as you see in photos unless the sun is shining down at the right time of day. I wished I had spent the time at Rio...

We went to the salt pond park first. Many salt evaporator ponds have this pinkish color. It was not worth the ticket price without flamingos. The town's beach behind the church was nice and clean. We enjoyed having a picnic there. We strolled around the town for food and drinks. When we reached the western end of the town, a Sunday baseball game was under way in the small stadium between Las Coloradas and Cenote Azul. A corner stand had beer and food. We watched for couple of hours until we had to catch the Noreste bus to Tizimin. It was a real fun day...

Un poco dificil llegar a ese lugar por transporte publico. Un lugar estratégico es desde Valladolid. 7:30 am toman el ado ($55) para Tizimin. El bus autobuses del nordeste para Las Coloradas sale 10:30 ($65). Donde para el bus caminan hacia la saliera el costo total para entrar es de $190 (esta incluido el impuesto de Conanp) precio del incluye el guia por 30 minutos. Luego suben al mirador. Una hora y media suficiente de paseo en ls coloradas. Luego pueden ir a Rio lagartos (no hay trasporte de bus hasta las 4 pm tendrian que pedir un pago al taxi local $150 a $200, sin son 4 les sale a $50). En Rio lagartos pueden llegar al rededor de la 1 pm contratar un paseo en lancha $1400 sin son 4 a $350 dura 2 horas y media lo vale. El resto de tiempo pueden pasear el puerto y tomar fotos y comer algo rico ahi, eso si es un gsto mas y hay que considerar mejor lleven su botana. (El bus de vuelta a Tizimin sale a las 4:30 pm que viene de las colordas y el ultimo a las 5:30). Si no consiguen coml regresar de Las Coloradas cuando después de salir de Tzimin a las 10:30 pm pueden esperar el bus que sale de las Coloradas a las 4 pm bajan en Rio lagartos, pagan un tricitaxi $10 por persona, van a las letras de rio lagartos. Y pagan otro tricitaxi de vuelta a la terminal, de rio lagarto pues el ultimo bus sale a las 5:30 pm para regresar a tzimin. Llegan antes de ls 7 pm pueden regresar a valladolid en el ado y si no lo alcanzan como me paso a mi pueden ir a La tienda elektra y tomar el colectivo que sale a las 7 pm generalemente esperan a los que no alcanzaron el ado. O si no lo alcanzan pagan un taxi de tzimin a valladolid $500 sin son 4 personas es mas barato. Chequen paneen bien su viaje para no perder tiempo y...
