You will find BEAUTIFUL architecture at Uxmal! The area is well maintained and it’s quite compact meaning you won’t have to walk far to see it all. It’s one of the more impressive Mayan ruins I’ve seen. We enjoyed seeing the intricate stone carvings on all the buildings which weee in pretty good condition.
There’s very little written explanation of things so either bring a guide, your notes or a history buff if you want anything explained.
Lots of iguanas roaming around the area, they are friendly and fast, they even climb the structures which is hilarious to watch.

Read moreI was a little disappointed due to the covid-19 restrictions, they would not let you climb the pyramids or go inside. They even asked you to take pictures with your mask on but it's ok if you take it off to drink water. They have a size limit on how big your bag or purse can be as if you could pick up a pyramid and steal it. Alot of the structures were roped off so that you couldn't touch them. No one told us that we would be paying the same price even with all the restrictions. The worst part is there were chechen trees...
