TO GROW-ONS: the bathrooms and shower-rooms, especially in the water park. Black mold and filth, rust, chipped and mold-ridden paint, and scaryness was everywhere. Men's and women's bathroom and shower-rooms in the water park were equally dilapidated. (As avid campers at campgrounds, we have no problem sharing the bathroom with bugs or spiders or dirt or mold, but these at M.A. were the most disgusting bathrooms I have seen since the 1980s. Including campgrounds.) For the price of tickets, I would expect the bathrooms to be current and up-to-date.... The lines to use the bathrooms in the ladies room in the water park were atrocious, and there were some of us with toddlers, kids, and special needs children and special needs adults had a HORRIBLE experience trying to keep accidents from happening... We shouldn't have to wait 20-30 minutes to get into the bathroom... The signage in the water park bathrooms are severely lacking. Several people waited in a line for 30 minutes that they thought was the bathroom line, but it was just a changing room line....... Not acceptable. Also, as expected on a busy Saturday, there were several emergencies in the water park regarding staff/cast members saving guests unexpectedly. All emergencies were all expertly handled, and it was evident that a lot of solid protocol and tons of training has gone into the repetition and PRACTICE of these protocols. My MAJOR suggestion would be to have part of the response team respond with the portable, lightweight, self standing "shields" to make a shield of privacy around the victim and their family to make their worst moment on vacation a private one. In one instance I saw patrons recording the incident on their phones regarding a small child. That's when I joined in to help make a human shield (with my back to the emergency), helping to block them. If you had the 3-foot tall, light and portable, fence or wall style response-shields you could literally just set them up and stay focused on the emergency at hand... Providing the utmost amount of privacy possible!! :-) As for the app, we found it somewhat handy, especially for saying if rides were open or closed for repair. (However, ride wait times were often completely inaccurate or missing completely.) I would love to see more large shade tents and more seating along walkways, especially to and from water park, especially for those with disabilities or small children. I would also love to see more Cooling Stations (mist makers and water refill stations) to help prevent emergencies and overheating. I didn't see any Baby Feeding areas or rooms or rest areas or backwards-facing benches (always in the shade) so mothers who are nursing/breastfeeding, pumping, or feeding their baby in any of their chosen ways can have a seat in the shade where they can have some space to do so with a little less distraction.... with power plug ins!!! Definitely need to fix that. Also great for parents of special needs kids or adults who have trachs or specialized medical equipment or need their power wheelchair recharged. GREAT THINGS: the overall emergency response and knowledgeable, trained people responding in seconds of being alerted. As someone who has emergency response training, I recognize the work and constant practice that has been done in this area. I would feel safe having one of my family members being helped by any of the response team at Michigan Adventures, and that is truly saying something. The app was great for location finding and navigation. Telling walking distance and estimated walking time between your location and the desired location/ride. This is very helpful when having heat/sun/weather sensitive people and/or those with other types of disabilities/different abilities visiting the park. The entry experience was pretty great. It went much quicker than expected! Every staff member we encountered was kind, considerate and helpful. Also, the catering area and all staff were FANTASTIC!!!! (They SINCERELY cared about the quality of food and our overall experience!!)

Excellent midsized park! No question will return with our grandkids. We raised 5 kids, now millennials & older, where they recall well their old jingle, "Let's go to Michigan Adventure," repeatedly playing over & over at park. Kids have great memories of park when they were little. So, years later, we returned with our 6-year-old granddaughter. THIS review will definitely comment on more PROS, than CONS! PROS: SIZE. Cedar Point & Kings Island 365 acres versus here 247 acres (Disney's Magic Kingdom 107 acres). When you have little ones, that makes a BIG difference whether their little legs can walk the park or you're pushing them in a stroller in the summer heat. "HALF PINT PARADISE" for the little ones keeps that age busy for HOURS, while parents get to RELAX, as kids have a ball. Same with rest of water park. Oftentimes all most kids care about is the wave pool & a few water slides, like the classic toilet bowl-looking water ride. Our 6-year-old granddaughter wearing vest did not want to leave the wave pool inside Half Pint Paradise with her standing towards front of wave pool since max depth was 3 feet there (see pic attached with Mom standing circled in yellow). Perfect training to jump waves for younger ones. REST OF PARK. Think about what you'd pay if the state fair came into town for those small 2-5 ticket rides. Here you are getting TWO parks for price of one, including a few large coasters. No it's not Cedar Point, but there, you have to pay $50 twice to access both parks. Yes, Kings Island similarly priced as Michigan Adventure, BUT you can't drive a few min to a GORGEOUS, flour soft sand BEACH off Lake Michigan as you can in Muskegon where Michigan Adventure Park is located (no shark nor jellyfish bites, nor salt water to taste since it's a freshwater lake). STAFF. Shout out to Dylan Mason who went above & beyond to help us when my phone ran out of charge. Thanks to Dylan I was able to charge my phone while at water park. There are electrical outlets near First Aid inside of Half Pint Paradise, next to wave pool. WEATHER: Our oldest son would only go to Cedar Point on a Monday or Tuesday when weather prediction was lower 80s, cloudy all day with 50-60% chance of rain > less crowded/lines always shorter. We did same here with granddaughter > max line wait time 10 min for our 3-8 pm park experience. CONS: EXPECTATIONS. If you're with a teenaged+ aged crewexpecting a Cedar Point or Kings Island Cedar Fair park ride level, you will be disappointed since this is a traditional midsized park with a few great roller coasters and rides. For us traveling with younger ones, it is a GREAT trial for coasters, starting with Woodstock Express, then Zach's Zoomers, closing our day with Madhouse as finale with our 6-year-old granddaughter. "Can we ride that again?" was a common request with each coaster experience. We did this when our 5 now millennial aged kids were little (as soon as youngest was 6 years old & able to ride), then, they all have been to Cedar Point once older. It has the classic bumper cars, Ferris wheel, pirate ship, kids rides, fairway of game booths, etc. that may be found at most amusement parks, along with a few steel & wooden coasters. I disagree with the review that this is a "ghetto" park; it's all in expectations. Best experienced in summer 'cuz with the water park AND amusement park AND 20-min drive from Lake Michigan beach location, it is far from a "ghetto" park experience. PARKING & FOOD COSTS. $20. Same as other Cedar Fair, Disney & Six Flags parks. Expectations met.

Got 2 day passes for the family. We used a discount but everything was still very expensive. Went on a hot summer Sunday and they were super busy. Also, went again two days later on a beautiful mild Tuesday. Parking was $20 and I absolutely would have paid the extra $5 for preferred parking on Sunday had I realized how it worked. Tuesday was fine, we had a close spot. The parking lot is looong and narrow. The up front gate parking is nice but the lot just goes in one direction so the walk can be very lengthy to the gate! The park was nice and clean. The staff all were very nice. Talked to the guess your weight or age game people for a bit while I waited for the family on a nearby bench. They were both nice guys and I was a bit jealous what a fun summer job they had. The layout was of the park was good and there are benches everywhere. It's obvious the places doesn't get a lot of attention from Cedar Fair and that's too bad. Place kind of reminds me of Holiday World. The rides were fine. Nothing really new to add. Shivering Timbers is a big time coaster. The Wolverine Wildcat was okay. Zach's Zoomer also just okay. Thunderhawk looks great and is a decent coaster. I was surprised by all the hate it gets. The people in the picture I uploaded are stuck. They were up there about 20 minutes. I'm getting too old for this stuff though. I watched them wait and imagined myself up there losing my mind. Kids were happy to find Adventure Falls on the way out. Never got on the Mad Mouse. App said it was down most of the day but found out before we left that it was running. Checked on it and the wait was way too long so we missed that one. Went to the water park area in Sunday and it was stupid busy. Slides had long lines and they were slow to get rafts to the top. Kids primarily played in the lazy river. So many people in the water park on Sunday. Way too crowded to enjoy. Holiday World (my home park) does the water park game right. Plenty of lockers and change rooms. This place had an overcrowded bath room with long lines all day. Hate to say it but I bet there's quite a few that just pee in the pool. They desperately need to fix the lack of change rooms and bathrooms around the water park. Last thing I'm going to say about this place. I was shocked when I was asked if, "I wanted to round up for a donation" when I purchased a crazily overpriced snowcone. I was shocked, people were standing around me listening, people patiently waiting, and I said yes. Funny thing, I pay with my card and only the donation was charged. He had to go get a guy to figure out what happened. Meanwhile my snowcone sits on the counter and melts. I have no idea where my 73 cents went to. I've spent so much money at Michigan Adventure and you have the nerve to ask for a "donation". I don't mean to sound cheap or mean but a donation for what exactly!?!

I’ll start with this, the STAFF IS AMAZING! They all seem to love their job and are incredible people. When I didn’t fit on a ride, they were helpful, kind, and didn’t turn it into a spectacle. Security was present and friendly, spotted a couple talking to kids and it made the guests’ day—the whole time security still kept an eye on the crowd. Lifeguards were aplenty took their job seriously. Game attendants made our moments memorable and enjoyable. Heck, even the water at the refill stations tasted great. The rides were fun, and there was a good selection for the admission cost. Lines were organized and short for most things. Bonus points that the water park is included. Ripcord is a fantastic add-on. Wish there was an option for video recordings. However, Michigan Adventure is in need of work. The arcade had one of the card machines not working at all, which left only one. The fidget spinner game took credits but wouldn’t work. The prize machine is a neat idea, but there’s only one and prizes are super limited. Overall, it’s an okay setup, but with no attendant on duty it’s troublesome to report issues. We’re also fairly certain some machines charged us more than they were supposed to and didn’t load our tickets correctly, but there’s no way of checking where credits were used or track how many tickets were paid out. Incorporating a game card that can be tapped rather than slid would also be helpful as some games when created didn’t have a card system in mind and it’s tricky to swipe the card. Better signage or setting up a reminder system on when the water park closes would be great. We assumed it was open for the same duration at the whole park, but were surprised when 6 hit, everything shut down, and we were told to exit. Had there been some kind of “hey, we close in twenty minutes” heads up, we could’ve gotten another slide or two in. Also, the wave pool directly in front of the entrance has MULTIPLE sections under the water of torn up surface. Anyone with bare feet could easily rip open their skin. Bathrooms are nasty. Not in a “it needs a quick wipe down” way, but in a “this hasn’t had a deep clean in over a month” way. Toilet seat was falling off, cobwebs in the corners, what looked like mold from a roof leak, caked on grime, broken toilet paper holders, mirrors with black spots. We might be back, once the merger starts showing promise, but this wasn’t a great impression.

What a time we had here. There is so much to do at this park, you really do need to spend more than just a day here. As for rides, there is quite a selection for every age range, and every type of person. From the kiddie rides and coasters (there are three coasters geared for the young ones) to great big water rides and coasters, this park has a great variety. There are four large coasters, and around 20-25 fairground rides to enjoy. The water park section has a ton to offer as well, with a wave pool, a kiddie adventure pool, and the slides. There are around 20 water slides, ranging in size and thrill. There is so much to offer in the water park section, you could spend a whole day just for that. In addition to the many rides and attractions, the park has a really cohesive layout. Each large ride is dotted with a few smaller rides around it, which is really nice in between lines and whatnot. In addition, each area of the park has a snack/ drink area. Though I do suggest you bring your own water/ snacks. Food and drink prices here are outrageous. This is the sole reason I gave the park only four stars. My wish is for food and beverage pricing to be more reasonable. As for the food and drink, we opted to purchase an unlimited beverage cup. It cost 13.99 and came with unlimited refills. It was nice to have, and the attendants would allow us to have small plastic cups; we used them to share our soda with the kids. Something to note is that this park only offers Coke products, so beware Pepsi fans. We ate at the little diner, and it was $50 for four burgers and fries. The food came up fast, and was hot and fresh. At the front of the diner is a small condiment bar, where you could put your own toppings on. I found that to be a huge plus. The burgers were a very cheap frozen patty, but they tasted alright. All in all, we spent just under $300 for a day of fun at the park, and I believe it was money well spent. Thanks Michigan's Adventure for a great time at your park!

This was our first stop on our 2nd semi annual Theme Park Road Trip. Visiting for 3 days I knew this parks wasn't going to be as good as other cedar fair parks but wanted to add a new park on this trip. The park overall is good and I'd say more geared towards a younger crowd. Plenty of parking which said $25. But I had platinum passes , so it was free for me. The park is clean and has a decent water park for kids although I'd say I'm not sure why you have to carry your own tube to the top. Some of the 3 person or 4 person tube rides you have to carry that massive thing all the way up to the top. It's ridiculous and saw a lot of kids struggling to get up with it. Let's invest in anything to get the tube up without having to carry them. The entrance to rides was also confusing with the enter , exit and fast pass needing to be more clearly marked. Food was pretty good like the chicken strips and pizza but the macaroni at the coasters diner was absolutely nasty. I had everyone in my family try it and it was all met with absolute disgust. Not sure why your Even making it since I then watched the next few days while in there anyone that got the macaroni and surprise , surprise everyone I saw threw the entire thing in the garbage. If you live in the area then this is a good park to take your kids and have a great time but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit here since it has no significant rides that thrill seekers are going to want to try. I'm not a big fan of coasters myself but I will usually do any that are note worthy like giga coasters etc. Which places like kings island , Carowinds, Cedar Point and Canada's Wonderland have a least some noteworthy or unique experience rides. Michigans Adventures most noteworthy ride I guess is shivering timbers which I believe is the 4th longest wood coaster in the world.
