We were enjoying the beautiful mission till we got to graveyard and saw how the palm trees are taking over. These are the massive ones with huge trunks. The seedlings were all over the cementery and I spent about an hour pulling out the little palm trees growing all over. The grown palm trees with fruit discard hundreds of seeds that grow very easily. In my opinion, those palm trees need to be removed. Pretty soon, there will be no graves to look at. Also, the outside white figure of a saint, possibly the Virgin Mary, was urinated on, had graffiti and broken in some places. I live several hours away from the mission; otherwise, I'd volunteer to help preserve it. I pray that this matter will be address by the staff at the mission sooner than later.
