New Mission Yoga is far more than just a hot yoga studio. It’s a super-welcoming, non-judgemental, high-vibing space full of heart and soul. The teachers are all great. The schedule is dynamic with classes ranging from the original 26&2 complete with old-school dialogue (my favourite) to hot pilates, hot box yoga, African dance, creative meditations, somatic breathwork and a heap more. There are also all sorts of special events, often led by Indigenous elders and other experienced practitioners, healers and shamans. Most of all tho, it's a real community of people and I think a place you could only ever find here in SF and the Mission. It’s about folks coming together to heal through movement, connection, plants and, well, through creating a genuinely non-judgemental community, which is not always easy to find in the yoga world. I especially love owner and hot yoga and pilates teacher Steve23’s playlists and I’ll often put ‘em on again when I get home to keep the vibe going.

I just attended a sound healing workshop at New Mission Yoga, and it was such an incredible experience! This was my second event here, and every time, I leave feeling amazed. The instructors were so knowledgeable and welcoming, guiding us through different instruments like crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls, flutes, and gongs, and many others. Getting to create our own sound healing session at the end was so much fun and made the whole experience even more interactive and personal. The studio has such a positive energy, making it easy to relax and fully immerse in the practice. If you're looking for a new and unique experiences with a supportive community, I recommend checking out their events and classes!

From the moment my partner and I stepped into New Mission Yoga, we felt our nervous systems exhale. The space is lush and cozy—filled with beautiful indoor plants, comfy lounge furniture, and a calming warmth that makes you feel immediately at home. We got to enjoy a cup of tea at the most stunning, one-of-a-kind single burl wood table, and every detail just felt so thoughtfully curated.

Between the yoga and meditation offerings, my body felt deeply held and nourished. It’s clear that this is more than just a studio—it’s a place for healing. The only thing that felt missing was the ability to receive bodywork onsite… but based on my conversation with the owner, Steve 23, it sounds like that may be coming soon, which is SO exciting.

Speaking of Steve—what an absolute gem of a human. Kind, generous, grounded, and so easy to connect with. He and the rest of the staff made me feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. There’s a real sense of community here, and it’s especially gratifying to be guided by such skilled yoga practitioners who are also people of color. That felt especially meaningful.

Amid the hustle and noise of San Francisco’s Mission District, this space is a true oasis. I’m already looking forward to returning and attending more events soon. I was especially excited to learn that they’re hosting gatherings with Indigenous Amazonian traditional wisdom keepers to share traditional healing practices—something that feels incredibly aligned with my own journey.

This place is the real deal....

New Mission Yoga hosted one of the most incredible, beautiful, challenging experiences of my life -- the Buti Movement Certification. In one weekend, I walked the equivalent of 15 miles JUST on my yoga mat, and that space could not have offered a more supporting experience. At times, I honestly did not know how I was continuing to move, exhausted and elated by the sweat that dripped from my brow. During breaks, LMNT electrolyte drinks, handpan jam sessions, and deep conversations were had -- and without them, I don't know how I would've found the stamina to keep keeping on. I truly felt like I made family in a place that made me feel like home. In short but not insignificant, and as a fellow Burner myself, Steve 23 gave us a tour of the space, and the stories, artifacts and interior design of the space is one to be remembered, honored and revered for its depth and inspiration. Thank you all from NMY and BUTI for helping to literally shift my life into a brand new direction of life. I'm going to be a BUTIsattva for life thanks to this space and the program they hosted. THREE CHEERS TO YEE ALL! Ps. To the general public -- GO TO THEIR BUTI CLASSES! They will seriously...
