✅️😊It's your typical / authentic souk! 🧿
✅️❗️Be ready to haggle and negotiate
✅️😆You will get lots of stall owners calling you over, showing you products, using all kinds of tactics to engage you, and pull you into their stall. We enjoyed it as it is part of the experience and similar to our travels in the Middle East.
✅️❗️There is SO much to see, so make sure you wear good quality, comfortable footwear, and modest clothing helps.
✅️❗️There are hardly any places to stop and sit down for a drink, i.e., café and the few you see will be heaving. So take a small bottle of water with you or buy fresh juice - plenty of vendors around.
✅️❗️Take a sensible bag or backpack with you. Make sure it's secured appropriately.
✅️🍓Try the fresh fruit. The strawberries are amazing! Ask politely, and they will even wash them for you and pop them into two bags for you to eat.
✅️🪬There are plenty of souvenirs here. Use a reliable currency exchange app like XE to set your benchmark for haggling. If you don't get a sensible price, walk out, and they will most likely call you back and settle on the price.
✅️Go to the more authentic outdoor flea market and try the sardine kebabs from the street vendors across the road on the T junction.
❌️🥿Shoes are not always wide-fit, so make sure you ask. ❌️Check items carefully to ensure you know what you're buying and don't rush. For example, when buying oud, try it on day one. If it lasts, go back later to purchase. Don't rush to make purchases too quickly. ❌️They start packing up earlier than closing time so make sure you know the area or...

Souk El Had isn't just a market; it's a bustling, vibrant, and sprawling city within a city.
Considered one of the largest urban markets in North Africa, it’s a must-do experience for anyone visiting Agadir who wants to dive into the local culture. Stepping through one of its 11 gates is like entering a new world, filled with the sights, sounds, and smells of Moroccan life.
The market is a maze of over 3,000 shops and stalls, each selling something different. You'll find everything from fresh produce and fragrant spices to traditional handicrafts, leather goods, and even modern electronics. The layout is surprisingly organized into sections, which helps a bit with navigation, but getting a little lost is part of the fun. My favorite parts were the spice section, with its mountains of colorful herbs, and the food stalls, where you can grab a delicious and affordable meal like a lamb tagine or traditional pastries.
Top Tips for Your Visit: Go with Cash: Many vendors only accept cash (Dirhams), so it's best to have plenty of small bills on hand. Haggle with a Smile: Haggling is expected and part of the experience. Come Prepared to Walk: The market is huge, so wear comfortable shoes. It's easy to spend several hours wandering through all the different sections. When to Go: The market is closed on Mondays. The quietest times are often weekday mornings. Sunday, which is what "El Had" means, is the busiest day, full of energy but...
Read moreI really like this place it has a huge selection of different products, especially fruits and meat.
As a tourist, you should be cautious or nobody rips you off. It’s common and cultures like this to bargain so if they come over ridiculous high price, you should offer them how much you think the product is worth for you. And if you both come to conclusion even if you pay a little bit more don’t be insulted it’s normal if we pay four or €5 more it’s not that huge of a difference but for many people here €5 are a good amount of money .
I can really recommend if you go after visit to the fish restaurants that are on the right from the main entrance right next to the mosque you can get some pretty affordable fish dishes that are really tasty .
A good benchmark if you want to buy fruits, you can use a global and look how much does product cost at Mahana. It should be in general a little bit less or if the quality is better the same price.
It’s really fun to go through the different isles and go deeper into the market and discover different Stalls.
In general, be nice take time when you are bargaining and if you don’t want a product don’t get seduced by lower prices...
