The Menara gardens, which are located west of the city of Marrakesh, and exactly on the side of the Atlas Mountains. The gardens are one of the most beautiful places of tourism in Morocco💚💛🧡

The Menara Gardens were established in the 12th century, and these gardens are one of the most important tourist places in Marrakesh🧡💛💚

In the middle of the gardens there is a large artificial pond, in addition to the large Manara reservoir, which is filled with water and is two meters deep, as the water reaches it through channels from the Middle Atlas Mountains.💚💛🧡

The best activities in Menara Gardens Marrakech🧡💛💚 • You can walk around the garden and enjoy the natural scenery and fresh air, in addition to taking some souvenir photos. You can spend a whole day in this large park. You can also rent a camel and take a tour around the garden and pond.💚💛🧡

• In front of the garden pond there is a unique archaeological building, you can go up and watch it and when you reach the roof it will give you a wonderful landscape🧡💛💚

Where you can see the garden and pond from a beautiful height. After completing your tour in the garden, you can go to one of the nearby cafes or restaurants and have a delicious lunch accompanied by a wonderful view, or you can get some light food and drinks.💚💛🧡

Menara Gardens is a historic public park and orchard in Marrakesh, Morocco. It was founded in the twelfth century (about 1157) by Abd al-Mumin, ruler of the Almohad state. Besides the Agdal Gardens and the historic walled city of Marrakesh, the gardens have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985 AD 1] The gardens were placed around a central water basin and a reservoir, and next to them a canopy dating back to its present form from the nineteenth century. The reservoir and its canopy, which are often framed against the backdrop of the High Atlas Mountains in the south, are one of the distinctive sights and symbols of Marrakesh.

The gardens are located in a flat, topographical area to the west of the city, outside the historic city walls and very close to Manara Airport. These gardens still today consist of the large central water basin, its historic pavilion, and a very large orchard around it. Together, they cover a quadripartite area about 1,200 meters long (from northwest to southeast) and between 720 and 800 meters wide (from southwest to northeast). [20 The water tank is rectangular, 195 meters long and 160...

Location & History:

Located about 3 kilometers west of Marrakech’s city center, the gardens were established during the Almohad dynasty in the 12th century as a retreat for Moroccan sultans.

Main Features: • Large Reflecting Pool: An ancient irrigation system that supplies water to the surrounding gardens, fed by underground channels (qanats) from the Atlas Mountains. • Royal Pavilion: A traditional Moroccan-style building offering panoramic views of the gardens and the distant Atlas Mountains. • Olive Groves: Expansive orchards surrounding the pool, creating a peaceful atmosphere perfect for relaxation and picnics.

Amazing place, no access fees for the garden or the "pool" area which is nowadays rare if not unheard of. There are few shops that sell food, clothes and general items. There is a guy that showcases bread in a basket that you can buy from for 1 MAD to feed to the fish if you like. From what I heard, the only way these fish eat is through tourists which is a bit sad as if there isn't enough food they could die. The Menara itself is nice, the entree fee was 10 MAD to access it, take pictures and basically walk around inside it. It has a public toilet fully equipped, paper, water and so on which is nice for a "public" W.C. There is also a long walk in an olive garden, very clean, fresh air and super quite. Perfect to break free from the noise of Jamaa El Fenaa and Old Medina. Overall, great experience and would love to visit again in the future.
