Overall, this is a very uninteresting museum. Like the Swakopmund museum, The room is old and dusty and there is plenty of memorabilia, but unlike it there is not much in the way of explanations, text, etc. The result is that the visitor is left wondering what this is all about, which is a shame because the museum obviously has lots of stuff in its collections, and the staff has done a lot to present things and display everything. The visit is free, so no regrets, but leave a tip as the place is run by volunteers only.

My wife and I were very impressed with this museum. We both have worked at a museum and know all the work that goes into one. The curator here clearly has done a lot of research to provide the context for the exhibits, especially the ones covering local cultural and historical backgrounds. She also was able to answer additional questions we had on some of the artifacts. Well done! And its free too.

From library entrance, turn left then step down following stairs to ground floor then turn right. Not quite big so within half an hour you could finish a tour.

Some amazing bits of history crammed into the lower levels of the library here...discovered things we didn't have a clue about, SO much learning to be had. The place charges no entry fee (though we made sure to leave a donation), and the welcome is warm and unassuming. Thank you for the best two hours we spent...
