Walvis Bay Museum — Attraction in Erongo Region

Overall, this is a very uninteresting museum. Like the Swakopmund museum, The room is old and dusty and there is plenty of memorabilia, but unlike it there is not much in the way of explanations, text, etc. The result is that the visitor is left wondering what this is all about, which is a shame because the museum obviously has lots of stuff in its collections, and the staff has done a lot to present things and display everything. My wife and I were very impressed with this museum. We both have worked at a museum and know all the work that goes into one. The curator here clearly has done a lot of research to provide the context for the exhibits, especially the ones covering local cultural and historical backgrounds. She also was able to answer additional questions we had on some of the artifacts. Well done! And...

Some amazing bits of history crammed into the lower levels of the library here...discovered things we didn't have a clue about, SO much learning to be had.
