Trekking in Upper Mustang - trek guide Tulasi I did trekking with my Nepali friend Sujan .I did a ten day trek in Restricted area of Upper Mustang with Tulasi. Because of being Restricted you need a special permit which was all taken care of by Tulasi, all I had to do was show up. I was feeling a little apprehensive about spending ten days with someone I just met but Tulasi proved to be very professional, knowledgeable, trustworthy and has a great sense of humor.

Tulasi is a friendly and warm man who always has a smile and a great attitude. He is very knowledge about the area and if he did not know the answer to my many questions, it would not be long before he did. He is known and respected by other Guides/Porters as well as the many Tea & Guest Houses we visited or stayed during our ten day trek. I am grateful of the rapport that Tulasi has with the Guest Houses as we were able to have tea and chat with the owners/families which provided for a nice intimidate look into Nepali hospitality.

He has great communication skills and speaks freely about the his country, culture and anything that you would like to know or discuss. After our dinner we would go over the itinerary for the next day; look over the map, point out the high pass(es), grade of the trek and show the communities where we could stop for tea/lunch and finally how long it would take us to reach Guest House. The days were always comfortable with a good walking pace and rest stops, and some wonderful conversations. There were times that we just walked, each in our own inward journey, taking time for reflection and enjoying the quiet silence around us.

Tulasi is very attentive to the needs of his clients and made my trek a very comfortable and enjoyable one. I have walked away with a friend and many great memories of my time in Upper Mustang. He offers a wide variety of treks that can be customized to your needs; trekking remote areas, camping and the well trotted trail of Annapurna circuit and many more. Please don't hesitate to...

Amazing 5 days spent with Tulasi in Pokhara.

Cannot ask for a better trekking guide in Nepal !!! (I do recommend everyone to get a guide for your trek as it’s very easy to get lost/ get sick/ get hurt during your journey)

Here’s why ;)

Pre trekking: Tulasi is always responsive in all my queries via emails/ WhatsApp (even if it’s non trekking related): e.g. phone card to use, where to get best money exchange rate, how to get a bus from Kathmandu, weather etc… He picked us up from bus station (which was not expected) and drop us to hotel the day before the trek HIGHLIGHT: He checked the weather for us ahead of the trek and our route was shifted from clockwise to counterclockwise just to ensure we get the best views in our trek (and thanks to this our Snow Mountain View is always under the BLUE SKY) !!!

During our trek: Every night stay is with great view, hot showers, great food and warm beds (missing the Tibetan bread already!) Tulasi don’t just trek with us for the sake of approaching next stop as early as possible. He will try to plan for routes with good views and make sure the trek is memorable for us He’s knowledgeable in plants, animals (birds in particular) and culture you see on the way Great man to chat and walk with

Post trekking: Our bus ride to next destination (Chitwan) is booked ahead for us Private car dropped off to our hotel

For those looking to do a trek Nepal (regardless long or short), I can guarantee that Tulasi is the guy to look for. A man with kind heart and expertise in all you need in a trekking tour.

P.S. Greatful to have you with us in this journey Tulasi. We will miss you a lot. wish you & your family all the best and always be blessed with love and good...

We had the absolute pleasure of having Tulasi as our guide in Nepal, and I truly cannot recommend him enough. We were 3 girlfriends traveling together, and from the very beginning of our 5-day hike, we could tell he was highly experienced and someone we could trust completely. He made sure we were always comfortable and well looked after.

What made the experience truly special was his wisdom and knowledge. We learned so much about Nepal’s culture, history, spices, and plants through him. He made the country look even more incredibly beautiful than it already is. On top of that, he feels like pure sunshine, always smiling, always uplifting. He also has a wonderful sense of humor and made every day fun and exciting. He encouraged us to see as much as we could, always respecting our pace but knowing when to give us that little push to go further. And to top it off, he’s a fantastic photographer, never missing the chance to capture the best scenes and moments along the way! 🤗😅

Thanks to his care, energy, and expertise, our trip to Nepal was unforgettable. Will definitely return for another circuit when time allows, and without a doubt, he will be our guide again for the...

We went on a 4 day hike with Tulsi from Ghandruk to Tadapani to Ghorepani to end up in Hile where a taxi took us back to Pokhara. Tulsi arranged everything for us on a short notice. We got picked up with a taxi at our hotel and drove towards Kimche. The trekking was nice and tough at times. We informed Tulsi about us wanting to do some birdwatching and so we did during trekking. He knows a lot about the birds in this area. Tulsi took good care of us, offering us tea and food at every stop we made. We woke up early in the mornings to see the sunrise. After a night in Ghorepani we woke up at 5 to walk up to Poon Hill. It was a great experience to see the sunrise with a lot of people and hot massala chia. We were lucky with clear skies for all of the trekking which made the views on the Annapurna Cicuit mountains worthwhile. The last day was too hard on us, descending more than 1800 meters in altitude while barely having any breaks. We weren’t super fit for this hike either. This made this day stressful and less fun. In general we had a really nice trekking. Tulsi is has a lot of energy, is funny and takes a lot of initiative. Thank you for being our guide.

We did Khopara Ridge - Khayar lake trek with Tulasi ji in April 2025. It was my first trek in Nepal and with Tulasi's help it turned out to be one of the most memorable treks l've ever done! His helpful nature, years of experience of trekking in Nepal, knowledge about local bird sightings, and jolly personality all made the trek very enjoyable. We got to see many peaks and summits and Tulasi ji promptly gave information about Mt. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna south, Annapurna Ill, fishtail peak and many more. He was well equipped and also arranged experienced porters to carry our extra luggage. He planned ahead and arranged all the accommodations in advance and had food prepared as per everyone's dietary requirements. Overall we all loved spending six days in the mountains with him and would love to do more treks with him in near future!
