Chapel Saint Louis — Attraction in Halderberge

A piece of Italian beauty in Holland. In the small town of Oudenbosch, about 150 years ago, a priest became so inspired from a studytrip to Rome, he started to build a boarding school with a Chapel all in the style of Rome. The school now houses appartments, but the Chapel is still open (free entrance) every Sunday afternoon. The car-free square with the schools left and right, closed at the end with the domed Chapel in the middle. The outside of the Chapel is a copy of Saint John of the lanterns in Rome, but the inside is beautiful too and has an amazing acoustic.

Prachtige kapel vooral nu de koepel pas helemaal vernieuwd is. Mooie locatie om te fotograferen of voor een trouwreportage ofzo. De kapel bevindt zich in het centrum van Oudenbosch en is goed toegankelijk ook voor mindervalide mensen. ( Wel oppassen bij de trapjes aan de voorzijde van de kapel want die zijn oud en broos en breken soms af ... wat ik dus had 😬 ) Ik weet niet of de kapel ook van binnen te bezichtigen is. Leuk om te combineren is om ook een bezoek te brengen aan de Basiliek want die is op loop afstand van de kapel of met het naast gelegen Arboretum.
