Read moreThis post only concerns the cafe/restaurant of the Singer Museum and theatre. The place is relatively small inside, but with a beautiful large garden outdoors. Located in the centre of Laren, this place is full with the rich of t Gooi. Full of fancy dressed ladies, articulating well their accentless Dutch. Overweight gentleman with carefully dyed hair accompany them. Money talks. But! The atmosphere is still good, service by local youngsters is friendly and helpful. New Ukrainian fellow citizens took their chance on a job here and do so greatly. Plus, this month a full vegetarian menu. Never before did I have so many great options to pick. If you want to have lunch here, do it now and enjoy the good variety of veggy options. We had the very Dutch bitterballen, with local mustard and I tried the croque monsieur with eggplant. Read moreThe museum always has interesting exhibitions. This time it's about van Rijsselberghe, Jan Sluijters and contempories. Rooms present different themes. Also an exhibition with work from Klaas Gubbels and work from de Lussanet.
