We had an absolutely fantastic day with Orca Wild Adventures! As a group of four Aussies, we couldn’t have asked for better weather or a more amazing experience. We were thrilled to see four large pods of dolphins, including adorable babies, and had the incredible opportunity to swim alongside a group of adult dolphins – truly a once-in-a-lifetime moment! The adventure didn’t stop there – we even spotted and followed two massive hammerhead sharks. The BBQ lunch was delicious, and the added bonus of snorkelling made the day even more special. The small group size was perfect, ensuring everyone had plenty of time to enjoy the experience up close and personal. The crew was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about marine life, which made the trip all the more enjoyable. If you’re looking for an unforgettable wildlife adventure, this is it. Highly recommend!

It was a memorable day with multiple pods of dolphins viewed from the boat. We left the dock just after 7.30 am and travelled for about 2+ hours on the boat. If you get seasick, they give you something to drink. They also provide coffee, tea and hot water. Staff was friendly and informed us of safety and what to expect. Swimming with the dolphins takes a bit of strength because of the current and because we were being pulled by the boat and we had to use our arm strength. Must have good grip. Even if you didn’t swim with them, seeing them up close was life changing. Dolphins were wild but curious. We went to their feeding grounds but made sure we didn’t disturb them. Bonus was we got to see a baby dolphin! That was amazing. Captain was knowledgeable and knew their patterns. Would recommend.

This is an amazing day trip that I can't recommend enough. The crew are fun and friendly, trying their hardest to make sure you have a truly magical experience. We saw a superpod with around 150-200 dolphins, we couldn't swim with this pod as they had babies, but a smaller pod was found later. The swimming part is clever, with poles that fold into the water, allowing you to be slowly dragged along with the boat whilst looking under the water with a snorkel, so you can keep up and see the Dolphins. The snorkeling later is also brilliant, seeing seals relaxing in the water and a reef with some interesting fish. Definitely book this trip if you have time in Tauranga

If you are thinking of doing this trip and can't decide, JUST DO IT. Best trip I have ever been on. I have gone whale-watching before in Kaikora but this absolutely beat that out of the park. We saw many dolphins, the first pod had babies so we were not able to swim with them, which is totally fine. We got to swim with another pod later on, but the highlight of my trip was snorkeling at Motiti islands. You get to do a free snorkel swim along the shore, we saw Mau Mau, many other fish, stingray, and an octopus. It is amazing to swim through the kelp with the other fish. We had a great lunch, and great crew, and on the way back into the harbour we saw another pod of dolphins, a hammerhead shark, a blue shark, and blue penguins. We also got an amazing view of Mount maunganui that you don't get from the mainland. The crew is amazing and could answer any question you had, whether it was kinds of fish, or anything else about the ocean around Tauranga. Even my husband, who has done a dolphin swim before said it was an extremely amazing experience and wayyy better than anything he has done before, and he is a man of few words. I cannot say enough good things about this trip. Iwould give them 10 stars if I could, if you are thinking of doing a dolphin swim then I would definitely pick Orca wild adventures over...

My daughter said after the tour: „Papa, can we do this again tomorrow?“ (-: Our trip was close to the end of the season and initially would have been canceled because there were not enough people registered but thankfully Mark picked up the phone on Sunday late afternoon to coordinate between us and another family to have a Monday morning trip. I don’t think that he really had to do this and I don’t think that he made a lot of money with a trip for a small group like this, but I think that this is just who he is and what he stands for. Unfortunately we were not able to swim with the dolphins, but we saw a huge pod of about 300 animals, who were swimming with the boat and around it for about an hour. It was amazing! When we got to the island we also had a very nice snorkeling tour in the little bay and saw a stingray among heaps of other sea creatures. The lunch that Mark prepared was yummy and hit the spot. In general Mark and Em (the crew member) were lovely hosts and a true pleasure to be around. Overall this was a wonderful experience and something that we would do again in a heartbeat and something we would highly recommend to families with younger kids (ours...

I went in this trip yesterday what an amazing day. We first saw a pod of approx 20-25 common dolphins that we were allowed to swim with. Then went over to motiti island where we put down the a anchor and did some snorkelling for a while. Mark cooked us lunch on board; just basic options of sasuages with bread or vegetarian patty- but they we're tasy enough. After that we left Motiti and Mark "put his foot down" to catch up with what he thought at first was some pilot whales. When we got closer Mark announced this was actually a super pod of approx 100 pseudo orca and oceanic bottlenose dolphins swimming together!!!! This was absolutely incredible to see; there were so many of them and they swim so close to the boat and some of the dolphins were even "doing tircks" out of the water. I can't thank Mark enough for pushing the boat to it's full whack to make sure we got site of this- we were approx half an hour late coming back into port in the afternoon but this was so worth it. This trip is a full day with snorkelling and lunch included- I think it is excellent value.fir money. Thanks once wild adventure for an...
