I'm updating this review after seeing Ryan Ellis for a club fitting. Pre purchase mind you!

Learn from my mistakes and look into a club fitting if you have designs of playing regularly!

I've had a handful of full swing lessons at this location from J Mills, the former pro. They were hugely beneficial and I recommend looking into lessons any time you think you might want to upgrade your clubs.

That being said, my low handicap friends mentioned I should get fitted for newer clubs since my current set were made when Jenny Shipley was PM. Apparently technology has advanced since then?!

Ryan Ellis was kind, professional and massively helpful with his advice as we worked through a combination of heads, shafts, offset, and lie to find some forgiveness and stronger launches from my irons.

There's no advertisement more powerful than raw data on the screen after every swing. Fair to say, there'll be a sale going through the till before too long!

Add in a passing comment of a tip that has given me 10-15m for each club (for free!?) The boys at Golf Warehouse have made a stunningly compelling argument for seeing a human being in a brick and mortar building for your...

I have been very disappointed with the level of customer service in here.

When I tried to top up $200 on my golf club card, I was told there was a new card system. However, there was no proper explanation about how the new card worked, how it differed from the old card, or what would happen to my remaining balance. I only received vague answers after I pressed for clarification, and my old card balance was not automatically transferred.

This is not the first time I’ve had poor service here. Across several interactions, there has consistently been no clear communication, no explanation, and no real sense of customer service. For a club that handles members’ funds, this is extremely disappointing and concerning.

Under New Zealand’s Fair Trading Act, businesses are required to provide accurate and clear information to customers. In my experience, that standard has not been met.

I hope the club seriously reconsiders how it trains staff and communicates...

Have had 2 great experiences here recently. Bought a new set of irons about a month ago which I love, and the guy who sold them to me (whose name I unfortunately did not catch) was really helpful and friendly, encouraged me to hit them on the range and gave me some swing pointers too.

Then a few weeks later I went back and got a lesson from Wayne. Another great experience, has already made a big improvement in my game and Wayne is a lovely guy with a great passion for golf. Fascinating to hear him describe his experience playing in the NZ Open around Royal Wellington.

Will be back next time I'm in Christchurch...

Here's the thing. You might come here and have a really bad time. There's a non zero chance you explore maddening depths of self loathing and despair but it's like... Not on them? If you know what I mean. The facilities are really nice, things have been upgraded and each bay has the cool shit tracking tech. It's just that you might not like the numbers you are given. BUT, you can play Driving Range Angry birds and the gong sounds really fun when you hit it. So there'll be happy moments, few and far between as they are, in amongst the - y'know - rage and despair. But you knew that already. You chose GOLF as your hobby.

Went mini golfing ā›³ļø with my son and friend and was a nice place to chillax and slowly walk around the Scottish themed mini golf course. It seemed a little run down, but still, it adds to the flavour. Got a free lollipop šŸ at the end. Nice touch. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Just a wee thing, it would have been nice to be able to buy a coffee ā˜•ļø there and sit outside and watch people hitting golf balls and soak up the sunshinešŸŒž. A missed opportunity, maybe?
