Quite well done….is it a garden or a pa! It is quite different from the other ‘paradise’ gardens. Take your time to explore - it is perhaps not a garden in the sense of colourful flower beds etc. yet very interesting and educational. Entry is free but vaccine pass is mandatory and the last entrance is at 4.30 pm (as in Jan 2022) even during summer holidays.

This is a productive garden showing traditional Maori horticulture and as such it shouldn't be compared to any of the fantasy or paradise gardens. They are growing kumara in the main garden and there are numerous Maori wood carvings here as well.

A place to get to know Maori culture. This shows a traditional Maori garden with lots of Maori wood carvings. The inner area of the garden is named after Puna, the Diety of Kumara. The garden shows how Maori grow kumara.

Very interesting area to take a look at Maori traditional plantations / garden areas including from what I can tell a raised food storage area in the middle of the well explained Kumara area. Not to sure what each Maori Carving represents on the fence and other areas though it does look like it's something from Hamilton. The entry gate is also...
