Beautiful little hill in East Auckland. They were renovating the top when we were there, but the fencing didn't go all the way around so we were able to get to the top. It got really dewy in the evening though. It's an easy climb, not very steep. The view from the top is really nice; you can see all the way to the CBD, out into the harbour (Brown's Island is directly to the north) and west towards the Waitakeres. There was a beautiful sunset when I was there. It isn't very busy; my friend and I didn't see anyone else while we were there. Do note that it was a bit muddy, when we weren't on the track, so it may be good to keep that in mind if it has been wet recently.

Easy walk and climb up Pigeon Mountain, which is more like a hill. Plenty of parking off street and safe area for kids to run around at the bottom grass area. Up the top, some caution needed, as some if the oaths can be slippery and with loose scoria rocks. Good view of surrounding area and place for young kids to explore with binoculars

It is a bit sad that this place has not been maintained well like the other famous mountains or other hills around Auckland. It was not Wow looking but if you want to find a quiet place to look at the view. Here is the place that you can count on. This place is dog friendly walking .
