This place should be struck off if it could be....||Unfortunately I was desperate as my other accommodation was not available.||They charged me $220 for a cess pit. I approached them about the broken falling down curtains, dirty bathroom (hair all over the bathroom floor and vomit on the wall) and general lack of cleanliness. They did fix the broken curtain rail, however the cleaning was not rectified. See attached photos.||The manager was not the person who checked me in and I saw her the following day and she said I should have told her about the problems. I thought she was the neighbour as she lived in the next unit, the office was closed upon my return after my initial complaint.||The area I had to walk through to get there was like a council rubbish tip, stench coming from the bins, broken machinery, empty paint tins and trays and cigarette butts and smoke all over the place.||The sad thing is, there is a housing shortage in New Zealand for people who need emergency accommodation. I found out later that this motel is used for social housing for emergency accommodation. Since COVID a lot of NZ motels have turned to this lucrative alternative were they are paid a premium by the government to house people in need. They are doing so well they obviously have no care at all about the odd person who may need accommodation and is actually paying for it themselves. ||After many discussions and phone calls I was offered no discount. They even said they could offer me a discount but their credit card machine didn't offer that facility once payment had gone through! Considering I had a filthy dirty place they didn't feel I was owed a discount.||The kids were all running around and having lots of fun but in a dangerous, dirty environment. It's noisy, filthy, unkept and completely NOT A MOTEL. I really advise not to stay here, there should be a...
Read moreTheft from our room! Despite our room being securely locked it was entered on Saturday night while we were at a family birthday party nearby.Approx $3k worth of precious jewellery, perfume and prescription woman’s sunglasses were stolen.Obviously someone with access to a key or the skill to enter without a key was the perpetrator. These were well hidden in a handbag and stored in the ironing board/coat hanger cupboard and not susceptible to a opportunistic theft. The manager claimed this was a first, however google reviews show another theft incident on the same night and two similar incidents a year ago.The CCTV advertised on our room back door was inadequate and only covered the reception area we were advised,so was of no use in helping to solve the crime. The room was tired and smelt musty, the entrance door and windows were filthy. The exterior veranda of the room needed a good water blasting to rid cobwebs and the grounds were generally scruffy and not as advertised on Booking Dotcom. Certainly not a Motel we would consider...
Read moreFantastic location and very friendly managers. Is being used for emergency housing but no problem with those in need. Nicely furnished and the kitchen is well equipped, perfect for self catering and the shower had good water pressure, comfortable bed and very quiet in a lovely location close to some nice restaurants, BUT needs some attention as far as cleaning and maintenance is concerned. The kitchen appeared to have been recently updated but the cupboards are wonky and need adjusting, and as far as leaving the energy sticker on the fridge, tacky! The bathroom really needs some attention, there is mould in the tiles around the shower, nothing some bleach won't fix, and the wooden unit around the vanity has seen better days. The windows have several broken latches and could be with the mould being cleaned off the surrounds. There was also cobwebs in the corner in the dining room, so not vacuumed well. Could do with some paint touch ups.||So overall some what overpriced for the condition of...
