Came here recently for dinner with a good friend, though the food was yummy as ever the staff and service...another story. No staff member was particularly horrible or rude but there were 3 or 4 instances where my friend and I exchanged looks and both thought really??! took about 20 mins and asking 3 times for water until we finally actually got some and on a quiet night too so why that was such an effort who knows as it was a cold night we asked for the heater by our table to be turned on. one male staff remarked "oh we haven't turned these on for a long time" and seemed hesitant to turn it on for us as if god forbid how dare we asked asked for an extra satay chicken skewer (so 4 instead of 3) as our shared entree but they forgot and only served 3. Didn't find this a big deal though the waitress was more then happy to fix that minor issue when given our next set of cutlery for our mains the waitress just threw (literally threw) it on the table in front of us. To me that is so rude and unhygienic anyone is hospo should know to place a napkin down next to each patron then the cutlery down on the napkin. NOT HARD.
I have been here a couple times but never had such service, food has always been decent but the staff and service really let the place down and the manager should consider extra training or training staff properly to begin with. Staff also could of seemed a bit more joyful and...
Read moreIf the view here wasn't so great I wouldn't bother going. We went for lunch on a Saturday and were the only ones in the restaurant. We thought we would be able to choose our seats because there was nobody else there but the waitress tried seating us right next to a massive party of 30 kids who were next to us at Marina Cantina. I had to ask for us to be seated outside away from the noise. Little bit weird. Anyway we ordered and the Spring rolls were very disappointing. We are regulars at Thai Family Pakuranga and the Spring Rolls really didn't live up to our expectation. We asked for 2 servings of Spring Rolls and instead received 1 serving split in two plates. I couldn't be bothered complaining because I didn't want to have to wait for a second lot. Our mains came next and were nice. Too expensive compared to other competitors. But overall the sub standard service and disappointing entrees for a quiet Saturday were very underwhelming. Thai are known for their friendly welcomes in restaurants and these guys have no hospitality skills whatsoever. Won't be back. They are lucky to have the location...
Read moreTonight my family and I went to Marina Thai for a birthday celebration. What a disaster!! I rang in the morning to book a table and explained that it was a special birthday and would appreciate a good table. We were placed right next to the toilets and the kitchen - the noisiest spot in the restaurant. The service was extremely poor and sloppy right from the start. The plates were thrown on the table and the waitress serving us had poor communication skills. We waited more than an hour for our food to arrive. Two of the fried rice dishes, were specifically ordered with "No Onion" as we have allergies in the family. Both were brought with onion. One of the fried rice dishes also had a black hair in it!! The result was that not everyone had there food at the same time, which is not very professional in the hospitality industry. The staff did not seem to take any of this very seriously - 'oh sorry' is not really good enough. We will definitely not go again, nor can I recommend this...
