We attended a wedding this month (Dec 20) Thought the venue was gorgeous, lovely staff but the canapes were horrific sorry, I specifically asked if something contains fish or shellfish because of my allergic reaction, got told something was a ham and cheese bread quiche thingi but it had seafood in it, had i actually consumed that, I would have been seriously ill and in hospital. There was a.spinach pastry that unfortunately made a few people gag, I heard great reviews about the mussel fritters though. They closed the bar 1hr early because they did not have enough alcohol, most venues go and get more but apparently that wasn't their job. It got to the stage where we were only allowed to buy 1 drink per customer because of previous wedding guests behaviour (not sure why that was our problem) we were fighting canapes lol overall the canapes were not worth what the poor bride and groom paid!!!!!!!! The venue itself was absolutely stunning!! Such a pity the food was so terrible and the alcohol dried up after 4hrs. I would be keen to see how the buffet food compares, but canapes are frozen mini spring rolls, mini samosa, bread put in muffin trays to make smoked fish mini quiche, mini mussel fritters, pancakes with avo and salmon, mini meat balls, mini pastries, everything was mini lol lucky to get 6 pieces over a space of 4 hours, needless to say everyone moved to alcohol to cover the lack of food. I gave 2 stars because of the beauty of the venue and the lovely staff having tried their best given the amount of restrictions In place I would recommend going back for those reasons alone. Again food...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeautiful venue, but such a shame that the staff here is really unprofessional and unfriendly. Their professionalism does not match the ecstatic of the venue which is quite appalling šš½.
They were very unhelpful and did not pay attention to what was asked of them as my family & I worked hard and tirelessly to cater for a inlaw/extended family's wedding. A male staff member as soon as we arrived to deliver the food his attitude and response to us was very appalling. Have told Filipino lady how we wanted the food to be served and which ones were the spares as it was written down on each trays. Food was not placed out on time and was not put in food warmers with care! They were very slow with service and refilling food warmers up makes it worse I have a feeling they even kept some food to themselves as a few boxes of rawfish went missing (mind you we were not allowed in staff kitchen). They didn't place our bread rolls into a tray on the serving table pretty much left it in corner where guests can't see it.
Staff here needs to be re trained and organized properly. Practice good customer service while your at it too will be very helpful. So other venue hirers won't go through this appalling behavior/attitude.
Unless staff fix their attitudes or change out whole staff then this place will definitely be one...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad my wedding here on Saturday. Beautiful garden area for ceremony, we loved it. Poor service from John during the day. Canapes were trash, it looked like a kid fried those mini spring rolls which tasted horrible š¤®. Front table food was trash and not enough food was served, John sold us an awesome dream and couldnāt deliver those promises. Food and reception service isnāt worth the money. I could easily whip up a ham on a bone 100 times better than this place. They served rice which was very dry, you could almost choke a cat with a grain. Mushroom sauce tasted like it was made for hospital patients with no flavour. Roast Beef was very hard, I thought were were being served beef jerkyās. The drink they call tropical punch tasted like cordial mixed with tonic water and it was very sour. Who runs out of alcohol at a place like this?. I do not recommend this place for reception. Also John can be a bit arrogant and sarcastically rude....
