Double Happy Chinese Takeaways — Attraction in North Island

They say you should always go where the locals go. We found this place on google maps. It is not on the main tourist drag but further back in the real Taupo where people live. My husband decided to get two large springs rolls and they were almost enough for a meal. Juicy and tasty. The Chicken Chow Mein was equally tasty and it is not often we can't finish a takeaway that we share. Great value, full of vegetables and well cooked large pieces of chicken. We'll have to have the Chicken Chop Suey for lunch tomorrow! You only need one between two people. had smorgesburg. comes in 4 sizes $13 to $22. $13 container sufficient for hungry adult. lots of choices. we went at 7pm thu and all dishes/choices were full and hot. must have been about 15 choices. food was delicious. especially honey chicken and sweet sour pork. highly recommend. friendly fast service too....
