This park/beach has almost everything you could ask for. Absolutely beautiful views. Nice calm shelly beach for the kids. A very cool stash of community toys for the kids to play with in the sand. We had my Mum with us, and before we went, I was worried about accessibility - however on arrival I was super impressed how the disabled parks are so close to the centre of things - it was a gentle very short walk for her to a park bench. The toilets are right there too and the playground has everything a kid could want, including a dual side by side flying fox. Perfect for families. But the elephant in the room is the obvious bog swamp vibe happening right in the heart of the park, I don't know anything about how to fix it so you don't sink to your knees in mucky gunky funk trying to access the park from a table without having to take a small hike around the cement footpaths, but it's definitely something that ruins the open space experience.
Oh, let's not forget the dog owners who let their nosey untrained dogs roam free, they're an accident waiting to happen, can't imagine they'd enjoy picking their babies fur from the teeth of another dog that had to get euthanized because of their useless...

We were quite puzzled and disturbed as it seems to be something of a police state here in Tauranga. Everyone's behavior was perfectly fine, no noise, alcohol or anything else.
