National Library of New Zealand — Attraction in North Island

Come here looking for references and old documents/photos related to work.

Greatly helped by one of the staff who assisted us patiently and thoroughly through the catalogues and online websites. She’s an angel! I feel bad not asking her name 🙏.

The place is very quaint, perfect quiet place to work. It has many computers that can be used and books that can be read, but not to be taken out. Printers are available. We can be members and orders some materials, including high resolution images for examples. Some are free, some come with fee. Check out the website for details.

The place is disability friendly, including the toilet.

The National Library of New Zealand (Māori: Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa) is New Zealand's legal deposit library charged with the obligation to "enrich the cultural and economic life of New Zealand and its interchanges with other nations" (National Library of New Zealand (Te Puna Mātauranga) Act 2003).
