December 24 2023: Highly recommend, this place was so much fun. Will definitely be back again. Staff were great! Such an adrenaline rush, our family had a blast!

Update January 1 2025: STILL highly recommend after our return visit! Family had a great day once again :)

After reading some of these reviews I don’t think the staff were rude at all, they are trying to keep eyes on multiple people in the water and make sure everyone is safe as well as run whichever activity they are allocated. They did a great job in our opinion (3x families). Not all activities are open all day long however they do open them up a couple of times over the day for example the Blob and the Rock Climbing Wall.

At times the slide didn’t have an operator but a staff member was nearby and happy to stand watch if we asked to use it. Really well run, new activities. I recommend this to all my friends. The price is great for a full day of activities. No complaints from us and we will happily return for our new family annual...

The park is a great place to hangout. After purchased 2 hrs tickets for the kayak and paddle board hire, we were given a kayak at first (didn’t even ask) and there were plenty of paddle boards. I asked if we can switch later and the male staff at the wharf said yes absolutely. After 30 mins of kayaking, we came back and wanted to switch to the paddle boards and told it’s not possible. I said the male staff said we could before we got in kayak earlier. Then a rude female staff came to offered us a double kayak instead (even told us “just so you know its all in the terms and conditions”) wow i couldn’t believe it. I didn’t want waste anyone’s time and argue and left. Not alot of money in a grand scheme of thing but a real disappointment! I even said I can pay extra for it but they still wouldn’t let us use the paddle boards. A bad experience and staffs need to train in...

We went as a family coming from Auckland, we paid the entry admission for three children, once we entered my daughter got really paranoid of doing any activities or even touch the water. I went asking for a refund only for my daughter only explaining to the manager that I'm trying to convince her to join her brothers but she really can't. My daughter was standing beside me completely dry as again she didn't even come close to the water and in a very rude way the manager said, it's not our problem that your daughter got scared. Adding to this, most of inflatable was flat as, that the kids couldn't even do it. My review is not about the $35 dollars for my daughter entry that I lost for nothing it's about the way how we have been treated. Honestly this place is over rated as all what you get is one water slide and one jumping board,...

This was one of those tourist activities that I wasn't sure would warrant my time but I was wrong (yet again). After a short drive in the minibus with Josh our guide and with Kayaks in tow we arrived at McLaren falls. Josh got some drinks and snacks ready for us whilst he unloaded the kit. The river ride (we were in the 2 seater kayak) was very rewarding and the fading twilight made it quite dramatic but the glow-worms (Māori name is titiwai, meaning ‘lights reflected in water’, and their scientific name, Arachnocampa luminosa, translates to ‘bright spider-worm’) were fantastic. Josh was a fountain of knowledge, honesty and humour and this adventure is right up there with the best of the glow-worm tours. I can totally see why this is such a hit with the cruise ship passengers. Thank you.

We visited Waimarino on Sunday 13th Jan. We had such an awesome day. Very Impressed with all the different activities we could take part in, Kayaking, SUP boarding, The Blob, massive Tramp on the water, slide.... the list is endless!! All staff were awesome, friendly and helpful. We took three boys , they had an awesome day. Heaps of covered areas for respite from the sun and cooler areas to eat. The park is really clean, it was cool to see staff going round picking up litter to ensure the park stayed spotless . I would 110% recommend Waimarino, you get to try new things in a totally safe environment. Great work guys, can't wait until our next visit 😊😎
