The Wellington Sign stands tall as an iconic symbol, greeting visitors with its bold letters perched on the hills overlooking the city. This landmark offers more than just a photo opportunity; it signifies the spirit of Wellington. The panoramic backdrop of the harbor and urban landscape frames the sign, creating a memorable snapshot of the vibrant capital. Whether by day with the sun illuminating the letters or by night when they glow against the city lights, the Wellington Sign is a visual declaration, warmly welcoming all to this dynamic city where creativity, culture, and natural...

A nice landmark where you can take a picture with the Wellington sign. It’s located on the busy Highway 1. There is enough car parking for almost 8 medium sized vehicles on the road, and it’s free to park. The Wellington Airport runaway also just starts here so there will be plenty of planes and their noise. The spot is next to Evan’s Bay so it’s windy and slightly chilly as well. You can also spot some big birds in the Evan’s bay as well. This is just a photo stop here for a bit, click your...

This landmark says so much about the people of this city: acknowledge the brilliant ideas of others, and stretch them further. Just don't expect more than a cool thing to look as your flight lands, and a spot to take a cool selfie: on-street car parking is the only amenity for this feature. And if you think you come from a windy place, be warned: this is right next to one of the windiest areas in the windiest city on the planet. If it's raining, leave the...

Short visit after walking from Evans Bay. It was nice when the weather are clean and sunny. Despite on being similar with "Hollywood" sign and visible from afar, it's not very touristy. We can see people do running, walking, fishing, and taking photos in no time. I guess it'll be very windy and far from beauty if the weather are not good. If you foreigner like me, pay a short visit here in the weekdays and of course when the weather are good enough 🌞
