First time here went with family as they eat here regularly. Ordered Nasi Goreng which was superb the balance of flavor was great, fresh veg and pineapple with tomato and a decent serving for the price. Could definitely fill two people. Others ordered Singapore satay, garlic hot plate with rice, spring rolls, roti and peanut sauce to top it off with Chocolate sauce brownie. All were superb and good sizes. By personal preference I didn't care for the peanut sauce that came with the roti nor did I like the roti but that's my preference. Brownie was gorgeous however I'd Prob ask the chocolate sauce be added closer together or next to the brownie as you'll see from the photo I lost my sauce to the plate but what i managed to scoop up was delish. Great chefs or cooks here I was told there were two Thai ladies cooking until they hire a new chef. Great environment, nice and clean but I noticed it was a little too dark to read the menu so we got our mobile phs out to shine the light to read it as did the table next to us so perhaps increasing the lighting a bit might help. Pricing is fair however maybe for some dishes they are slightly overpriced like the brownie dish was $10. Probably bring the price down a little more but overall happy with the food. Definitely eat here again. Saw they could cater for larger groups, families and couples. Had a bit of problem trying to book online so rang closer to opening and managed to score a table but definitely book ahead if you want a table...

Very disappointed with our experience, unfortunately the delicious food was ruined with bad service. After calling to ask if we could come 30 minutes before our booking we were told that was okay and a table will be ready and then called for them to say to turn up at the original time (we were standing outside) and the waitress blamed her manager. When we arrived at the original booking time our table wasn't ready and there weren't high chairs at our table even though we asked over the phone, when we asked again for the high chairs the extra chairs weren't removed and the high chairs were left for us to make room for. . when we finally sat down and ordered, our drinks came 1hr after ordering after asking for them a third time and also came warm and flat. Our entree was missing an element of the dish (fresh spring rolls on the combination entree) and then when we said something we were only then told they had run out, if we had been told we could have ordered something else for our child. When paying and voicing our experience the waitress again blamed the manager for all the mistakes, no sincere apologies only excuses and no offer to remove the drinks we waited so long for or the missing rolls. Previous experiences have been wonderful, but unfortunately...

I reviewed Spirit House when it first opened, and would have given it 6 stars if I could, the food was fantastic, and the atmosphere upbeat. There was an American guy working there who was do enthusiastic he really topped off the whole experience. We ate there a lot. Lately though, that experience is just a distant memory. While the serving sizes are still generous, the menu has great variety, there is still something missing. Some of the staff are good, but our most recent waitress couldn't seem to hide the fact she'd rather be somewhere else. The food standard has slipped as well. One of our meals was incredibly salty, almost to the point of being inedible, the sweet and sour pork was way too sweet, the sauce tasted more like watties Tom sauce with added sugar, and our cheesecake deserts were either still frozen or partially so. We have had all of these dishes in the past, and they had never been like this before. Miserable waitress even tried to defend the state of one of the cheesecakes until I showed her the amount of force required to chip off a piece. Miramar now has so many top drawer eateries now that with quality and service like this, I have to say, this most recent visit will be my last, which is a shame, because the Spirit House was...

We have been here every time we are in Wellington and the food has always been great, something to look forward to each time we are in Wellington. This time slightly disappointed with the food, must say disappointed with food only service was excellent. We had Kung Pao Chicken Stir fry and Black Pepper Hotplate. The chicken stir fry was sweet and salty instead of being spicy. Couldn’t taste the chilli at all. The hotplate was supposed to be sizzling but it was not and seemed a-little bit salty as well. The saltiness made it harder to taste any other flavours of the food. I was glad they took the feedback quite well and I am looking forward to give them another try only because they have never disappointed us in the past.

We went to Spirit House last night before watching a movie in the Roxy. Very disappointing food. One star is for the friendly service. But the food is absolutely horrible. The spring rolls and honey lemon chicken that my partner ordered were overly sweet. The Asian hot spicy soup I ordered (with prawn for $22) was a huge failure. It was served in a tiny bowl, there were a few prawns, a few roughly chopped mushrooms, some onions, and the rest is red liquid that tasted like chili source - they called this soup??? I could do ten times better at home. I will not go back there again. I was so hungry so I fished out the eatable food and left the disgusting liquid in the bowl.
