Blue lakes are not what they seem. I'd suggest calling them green ponds. The track to this particular part of the walk was very poorly maintained. After climbing over many little slips we got to the blue lakes. The Tasman glacier view point of the same walk is much more...

Unfortunate that the lake has turned green from the lack of Glacier water flowing into it. Climate Change is happening in real time in the New Zealand mountains. Some beauty of the lake still...

Unfortunate that the lake has turned green from the lack of Glacier water flowing into it. Climate Change is happening in real time in the New Zealand mountains. Some beauty of the lake still remains though.
