This is not a long hike, and the amount of time required listed on the sign — 25 minutes return — is fairly close to accurate. Do be aware, however, that the path ascends 331 steep stairs from the parking lot to the viewpoint, in case stairs are difficult for you.

We visited on a day of heavy rain, so it was not nearly as beautiful as it surely would have been otherwise, but we were able to look far down to the left through the rain to see the end of the glacier and chunks of ice floating in the lake far down to the right.

A very short side path accessible partway up leads to the Blue Lakes (which aren’t blue any longer since the glacier meltwater changed course since they were named more than a century ago). Again, it was raining, so the scenery was muted, but it is worth taking the 5-minute detour from the overlook trail.

This is a sturdily built path; I felt very safe walking both uphill and down on the stairs during steady rain. Toilets are found by the spacious...

Tasman Glacier Viewpoint is a place where you walk from the park area. You climb the stairs up to the glacier view point. There’s a lake on the way.

Besides this there are two more paths. They are flat, you walk among the thorny bushes and rocks and tiny stones. This place is like a harsh planet with a sharp mountain atmosphere.

We love it. We tell cosmic stories to our child and explain various geological wonders.

I saw it twice the smallest bird Rifleman among the thorny bushes. You need to be fast. They are very fast and hide among those coniferous shrub.

There is a cottage where you can eat your own lunch and toilet :)

We did all with our 4 years old girl. We played a game with her who will find first a groudhog among the bushes even if they are not living there :) it’s help her and us to survive...

Stunning Views despite the Rain at Tasman Glacier Viewpoint!

The Tasman Glacier Viewpoint is an absolute gem! 🏞️ The short hike to the top, with around 328 steps, is totally worth it. Despite the rain, the views of the blue lake were breathtaking. We took around 20 minutes to get to the top. It’s one of the shortest hike in the area. Great for kids too.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t see the Tasman Glacier due to the rain and clouds, but the glimpses we caught were still incredible. Nature’s beauty shines through, rain or shine.

For anyone seeking a quick but rewarding hike with stunning views, Tasman Glacier Viewpoint is a must-visit. Rain or not, the experience is unforgettable. Highly...
