Go Jets Wanaka — Attraction in South Island

I had been in communication with this company booking a jet boat trip for my family and some friends during our road trip of NZ. It was ‘booked’ well in advance however when we turned up at our allocated time, there was no sign of the jet boat or any staff members. I tried phoning both numbers advertised and left an email and waited for 15 mins, nothing. We decided to leave and take our custom elsewhere but it made for a wasted morning. Eventually about 3/4 hours later someone phoned me back and apologised, explaining they had made a mistake and booked it in for April rather than March. What an incredible experience! We went along with our 5 year old and what an epic time we had! Patrick and Tracey looked after us and were such great characters to deal with and laugh with! Patrick’s skills in the boat were impressive and his knowledge of the river and the history around the gold miners on the river meant he could answer any question we had for him and stopped off at points of history along the river. Had a great time on the river! Heaps of fun twists and turns and short stops here and there to talk about the history of the waterways, surrounding tracks and activities, and just to take in the sights (and try to spot a few trout in the perfectly clear water!) we had a great time despite the cold weather (wear enough kit to break the wind!) and we didn’t get wet at all through the coat and life jacket provided.
