Homers Donut — Attraction in South Island

Fun fun fun! This is a clever and hugely eye-catching way to remind travelers that they are in Springfield, the home of the Simpsons. It would be a shame to miss it, so watch for a park on the north side of the highway near the west end of town. When you see green space, look for the gigantic pink donut with sprinkles. You can climb the steps to look through it, but it isn’t designed for climbing...

Bit tricky getting the kids to sit in the donut with a straight drop for them on the other side, bit scary but love this donut. Parking on the road, so easy to jump out for a quick photo. The donut is right before the gas station on the right if coming from Christchurch. Little playground beside the donut if needing a little play...

One of my favourite things about road trips in Aotearoa New Zealand are the giant food statues! The Raikia Salmon, The L&P bottle in Paeroa, the giant fruit in Cromwell... and of course the GIANT SPRINGFIELD DONUT! Which is possibly my favourite.
