New World Waitaki — Attraction in South Island

I would give 0 stars if I could!!!, you guys are a disgusting bunch of staff and racist. My friend went through the self check out and when leaving was asked for his receipt which he didn’t have as you guys HAVE THE OPTION TO NOT PRINT IT ON THE TILL?!? Why if you’re going to ask for it is beyond me?. And then proceed to accuse him of shop lifting and not paying for his items and then making him do another transaction which he did! And it declined because he had already made the purchase and only had enough in his card for what he was getting. And THEN you guys don’t let him leave with his stuff and demand proof of the transaction which you guys can look up in your system ffs, making him drive all the way home to get his phone and drive all the way back to prove he paid for his stuff on his online banking. PATHETIC. All because he is Māori you racially profiled him as a shop lifter, be ashamed of...

Absolutely terrible experience. Working in the retail sector here in Oamaru, I understand how customers should be treated.

Well today at around 11am I went in with my gift card & got my few items at the self service, The young blonde haired girl was practically leaning over my shoulder (exaggerating, but that's what it felt like) she was watching me intensely like I was about to steal my sour cream, my taco pack??? This is not the first time at the self service there that I've been made to feel uncomfortable, most of the checkout "watcher's" seem for some reason to glare & closely watch me at the self service. They could learn a valuable lesson from the countdown staff (who're friendly, polite & helpfull, something they're not at new world north end.).

Doubt I will be back there anytime soon! But when I do I'll be pretty mad if this happens again.
