Twizel River Trail — Attraction in South Island

Pleasant trail to walk on, relatively flat and quite well marked - follow the bright orange marker poles. Seems like it might be fun for mountain biking too. Views of the plains and the river are good and on a clear day you can see the mountain range. We saw a trout in the river too. We didn't walk the whole trail but it was still lovely! Couldn't find it at first. Horrible directions. Led us in private property twice. But this is most of NZ walks are very poorly labeled and hard to find. It's not the Google directions. It starts across from the town...

The Twizel River Trail is very nice and I reccomend it. The return ride on Ohau River Road is horrid. Return the same way on the River Trail and save yourself an hour of terrible rocky gravel bottom...
