A very beautiful beach, well worth visiting for its white sand (there is a high proportion of silicone present). A lot of surfcasters were trying their luck fishing when I visited, close to low tide time. I found it unusual that there were no birds present on the beach, but loved the numerous skylarks that were dustbathing in the gravel access road! (Visited 23 November 2019)

Absolutely beautiful wide, white sand beach with soft sand. Probably one of the most beautiful beaches that we visited on the North Island and worth the drive to check it out! Make it part of your “beach exploring experience” when you are visiting the northern part of New Zealand!

Beautiful beach and nice to swim, no big waves and the sand was amazing. Also not crowded just a few people. The road to get isn't the best but still good enough for normal car.

A delightful river side camp. Beach access a few minutes walk away or drive a couple of minutes. Gravel road for several kilometres to get there. Lovely manager onsite in summer. Rubbish and recycling removed over summer too. Long drop toilets and water available. Best to boil water before drinking, cooking with etc. Thanks heaps. A...
