Found the road in here for a motor home just not suitable, we got a flat tyre, cost us a set of 4 $1999 as was unable to be repaired. Another motor homer after us also got a flat tyre so a $180 call out fee and a fix for the tyre. Prior to us a motor home cracked their water tank. One star gone, second star gone due to the drop and plop toilets giving you splash back on your body when doing your number 2s. Just so gross. Have informed doc re these issues. Other wise lovely camp, very peaceful not a lot of campers here, went in February lots of bird life and a short walk down to a beautiful beach.

The whanau who look after the camp are awesome as 🙌 Cold showers, long drop toilets and also a flushable one, water available but must be boiled, they have rubbish bags for purchase if needed and other small essentials. 🙂 10 minute walk to the beach depending how fit you are 😅 or you can drive. Beautiful beaches, leave them how you found them ❤️ Great swimming for all ages 😎

Been visiting this camp since 1976 well before it became mainstream. Back in those days it was a Land & Survey block and the only access was across the paddocks and through a dry creek. It was beautiful with pine trees lining the river and we camped underneath them in the shade.

DOC campsite that costs 15$ / pp / night. The spot is nice, right behind the dunes so you don’t get as much wind and the sound of the waves is slightly dampened. There is a path taking you to the beach in 5 min. The campground itself is very basic, there are no facilities other than some toilets and 2 cold showers (closed space) as well as 2 outside cold showers. Lots of families with kids making a ton of noise both late in the evening and early...

Great place to stay, not far to walk to beach. Very nice camp.with trees and shrubs around camp to shelter you.camp good for all people to stay . Good for staying in tents, caravans and camper Van's.
