Sir Colin Meads is a Rugby Union Legend born and raised in Te Kuiti, New Zealand. This statue was unveiled in June 2017 by Sir Colin and his brother together. The adjacent park has Sir Colin Meads Rugby Union Career written up on a series of tastefully presented billboards. Sir Colin Mead died in Te Kuiti in August 2017 soon after this statue was unveiled. Sir Colin Mead played 133 games for the NZ All Blacks between...

As a foreigner to these shores, that didn't really follow Rugby, this statue is a little lost on me. It does seem to bring a lot of tourists in to Te Kuiti for a photograph. Lets hope that they also try some of the...
